Director of Enrollment and Parent Relations   $250,000 USD/year

Description

The families you serve don't require additional services. They require someone they can trust implicitly.

This position sits at the heart of that trust. You will become the individual families turn to when something doesn't feel right, when they seek perspective, or when they wish to share something meaningful. Not because it's mandated—but because you've built it. Your role will define how they experience their child's education across one of two Bay Area locations: downtown San Francisco or San Rafael.

Alpha is constructing a fundamentally different school. Students complete core academic work in two hours daily through AI-powered platforms, then dedicate the remainder of their time to critical thinking, public speaking, and real-world application. No busywork. No lectures. Top 1% outcomes nationally. Our families are well-advised, sophisticated, and frequently skeptical. They demand clear reasoning, not rehearsed responses.

You will steward that dialogue across time. Not only during enrollment, but throughout years. You will speak with fluency about AI—its mechanics, its shortcomings, and its significance—particularly with families who invest in companies, build them, or demand precision in every choice. If you cannot sustain that caliber of dialogue, this role will feel burdensome. If you can, it becomes among the most intellectually stimulating positions in education.

This is not customer management. This is sustained trust-building with ultra-high-net-worth families who demand consistency, judgment, and discretion. If that context feels recognizable—and you use AI daily to write, think, and operate with greater speed—you will see the opportunity at once.

What you will be doing

  • Own the complete relationship with every campus family, cultivating trust that deepens over time
  • Identify concerns proactively and address them with judgment, discretion, and speed
  • Sustain high visibility at critical moments: afternoon pick-up, morning drop-off, and thoughtfully designed parent events
  • Drive ongoing, substantive conversations about Alpha's AI-driven approach with highly analytical, tech-forward families
  • Create and refine community experiences that foster belonging, referral momentum, and advocacy

What you will NOT be doing

  • Managing enrollment pipelines or admissions metrics—your work begins once families enroll
  • Operating primarily through email or sitting behind a desk—this role demands high physical presence
  • Deflecting challenging questions about AI or education, or relying on scripts
  • Depending on rigid frameworks—you will design systems where none currently exist
  • Viewing families as transactional accounts—this role rewards judgment over task execution

Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain deep trust with ultra-high-net-worth families, driving long-term retention, confidence in Alpha's AI-powered education model, and advocacy.

Candidate requirements

  • Based in or capable of commuting daily to San Francisco or San Rafael
  • 5+ years working directly with UHNW families or individuals in elite client service environments, family offices, private equity, or private schools
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-stakes relationships with sound judgment and discretion
  • Active, daily user of AI tools (e.g., Perplexity, Claude, ChatGPT) with the capacity to articulate AI risks, capabilities, and limitations clearly
  • Strong communication style and presence that builds credibility with high-expectation, highly educated families
  • Familiarity with independent or private school environments, either personally or professionally
  • Availability for select weekend or evening events, late afternoons, and early mornings

Nice to have

  • Established relationships within UHNW or Bay Area private school communities
  • Experience working with tech executives, investors, or founders
  • Proven track record building experiences or communities that generate organic referrals
  • Experience in high-growth or early-stage settings where ambiguity is significant
  • Capacity to distill complex technical concepts into confident, clear conversations
