The highest form of support you can give a student who reaches 99% of their target is to insist it's not complete. If that principle makes you uneasy, this position is not the right fit. If it energizes you because maintaining high standards is how you demonstrate belief in a child's potential, continue reading.
Alpha School operates on a 2 Hour Learning framework: K-8 students complete a full day's worth of academics in approximately two hours using adaptive learning technology. No traditional lectures. No textbooks. Your responsibility is what the software cannot accomplish — guiding children through essential life competencies including public speaking, concentration, collaboration, and constructive feedback exchange.
Sixty percent of your time will be dedicated to individual student motivation: reviewing learning platform dashboards and Coachbot data, identifying where an 8-year-old struggles with fractions or a 5th grader avoids reading assignments, and helping them break through. The remaining 40% involves facilitating interactive, hour-long workshops that resemble improv sessions more than conventional instruction. Every student must demonstrate mastery via Test2Pass assessments before progression.
This position offers growth opportunity. You'll guide a small cohort and internalize Alpha's methodology during year one. Demonstrate your ability to hold all students to 100% goal achievement while maintaining strong satisfaction metrics, and advancement becomes possible to Lead Guide, then Campus Lead (overseeing an entire school). You'll witness a child who avoided eye contact in September confidently present to a room of parents by spring.
Apply if you believe 30 children seated in rows listening to one adult undermines what young people are truly capable of achieving.
Guide a cohort of K-8 students to achieve 100% of their academic and life-skills objectives.
