Activity Leader   $60,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site at GT School in Georgetown, TX (Austin area), with relocation support
  • $60,000/year salary plus benefits
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

Gifted kids rarely lose focus because the work is too hard. They lose it in the gaps: a slow transition, materials that aren't ready, two minutes of waiting. At GT School, closing those gaps is your job. If you picture this role as standing at the back of the room, it isn't.

GT School serves gifted K-8 students. They learn academics through personalized learning apps, while Guides coach them toward ambitious goals and run hands-on workshops. You keep that model moving. Materials are set before each activity starts. Transitions start and end on time. The student who starts to drift gets a prompt before the rest of the room notices.

Picture a Tuesday. First thing in the morning, you set up the day's materials from the Guide's plan. All day, you move groups between activities, spot the student who checks out, and pull them back in with encouragement, progress trackers, and incentives. You're on your feet in the middle of the room. The bar is clear: transitions on time, and a Guide who never has to stop to regain the room.

You get real classroom experience in a school that doesn't run like a traditional one, with a full-time salary and benefits. If you like being in motion and helping kids hit a high standard, apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Moving students between activities so 95% of transitions start and end on time
  • Gathering and setting up classroom materials from the Guide's daily plan before each activity begins
  • Spotting early signs of disengagement and redirecting students with GT School's motivation tools, such as progress trackers and incentives
  • Reinforcing the Guide's expectations during app-based learning and hands-on workshops so instruction never stalls

What you will NOT be doing

  • Planning lessons or designing curriculum on your own time
  • Hall monitoring or handing out punishments; you keep order with presence and encouragement
  • Owning test scores or academic results; Guides own those outcomes

Key responsibilities

Keep transitions on time and students engaged so Guides can focus on coaching.
