Description

If you've stood on undeveloped land and envisioned a functioning school—complete with active classrooms, passing inspections, and final approvals—and then delivered it from the ground up, this role channels that proven capability into repeatable execution at scale.

2 Hour Learning is establishing a nationwide system of private schools that consolidate a traditional academic day into two focused hours. Operational speed in education is only effective when matched by equal velocity in physical development. You will own the complete delivery pathway for our new builds: from initial site assessment through certificate of occupancy. Your responsibility spans feasibility analysis, regulatory approval, construction oversight, and final handover. This is real-world delivery—across actual markets, within firm deadlines, under meaningful pressure.

This position is not about managing a team. It's about direct execution. You will define scope, establish sequencing, remove obstacles, and deliver complex construction projects with exactness. Your collaboration partners include Real Estate, Legal, Finance, and Campus Operations—and you'll bring both rigor and momentum to every interaction. We're not seeking a project coordinator. We need someone who builds. A professional with decisiveness, comfort with AI-driven tools, and a documented history of converting limitations into completed outcomes.

Prepared to deliver the fastest school launches in the nation? Let's begin.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing and executing ground-up campus construction projects—from undeveloped sites to certificate of occupancy—in multiple U.S. locations.
  • Producing feasibility analyses, cost projections, and permitting risk profiles that inform site selection and approval decisions.
  • Developing milestone-based construction schedules and coordinating delivery across internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Navigating permitting processes and regulatory requirements across varied jurisdictions—identifying potential delays and resolving roadblocks proactively.
  • Engaging and managing vendor performance—establishing explicit scopes, service-level agreements, and escalation protocols.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Waiting on the periphery for consensus—this role demands leadership from the front, not passive observation.
  • Applying a standard template to every project—zoning regulations, fire safety codes, and design requirements vary by site, requiring flexible problem-solving.
  • Delegating execution responsibility to others—you are the accountable owner, not a message relay.
  • Spending extended periods in planning phases—your operating mode is rapid movement, proactive unblocking, and creating clarity even when information is incomplete.
  • Maintaining standard business hours—this is a demanding, high-impact position. The significance of the work is reflected in the time commitment required.

Key responsibilities

Deliver operational school facilities on schedule and within budget—beginning with raw land and concluding with fully functional campuses ready for student occupancy.

Candidate requirements

  • Based in the United States with authorization to work without requiring sponsorship.
  • Available to travel up to 60%, including on-site inspections, vendor coordination, and regulatory meetings.
  • Led a minimum of three ground-up construction projects through the complete cycle from pre-construction to final delivery.
  • Established history of managing full construction lifecycles in multiple U.S. regions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of permitting systems, zoning regulations, and regulatory approval mechanisms across different jurisdictions.
  • Documented capability to oversee vendors, control budgets, and meet deadlines in high-stakes environments.
  • Effective cross-functional communicator capable of driving coordination among legal, real estate, finance, and operations teams.
  • Proficient in leveraging AI technologies to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and operate efficiently.
  • Prepared to commit 40-60 hours per week with a sense of urgency, professional standards, and full accountability.

Nice to have

  • Background in education facilities, healthcare construction, retail development, or other standardized buildout environments.
  • Previous experience in elite consulting firms, real estate development, or senior construction management positions.
  • Working knowledge of fire safety codes, ADA compliance, and occupancy licensing for institutional structures.
