Campus Operations Specialist   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This in-person role is based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-run campus feels orderly, accessible, and composed—because someone behind the scenes is managing countless decisions to sustain that experience.

Nova Academy is designed for students and families who hold high expectations for their school environment. Those expectations reach beyond the classroom. They appear in the clarity of family communication, the security students experience, the efficiency of daily routines, and the speed with which issues are addressed. This position ensures that every part of that system functions reliably.

In this role, you oversee all non-instructional operations across the campus. You establish credibility with families by maintaining transparent, prompt communication. You protect student safety by managing protocols and incident procedures. You coordinate facilities, logistics, and operational workflows so that staff remain focused on instruction. You also ensure that technology enables learning rather than disrupting it.

This is a hands-on, community-oriented position for someone who values diversity of work, accountability, and service. If you are motivated by resolving challenges, supporting a community, and building an environment where students and staff succeed, this role delivers substantial ownership and influence.

What you will be doing

  • Cultivating trust-based relationships with parents, students, and staff through clear, proactive, bilingual outreach
  • Overseeing all campus safety functions, including entry protocols, health response, emergency drills, record-keeping, and family notifications
  • Coordinating day-to-day campus logistics such as attendance tracking, transportation arrangements, facility maintenance, and office administration
  • Facilitating onboarding and orientation for incoming staff to ensure seamless integration into campus operations and culture
  • Administering student devices and campus technology systems, acting as the on-site technology liaison and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Leading classroom instruction or providing academic support
  • Mentoring Guides or contributing to curriculum design
  • Operating within a tightly constrained or exclusively clerical function
  • Working in a static, highly routine setting
  • Delegating issues rather than taking ownership through to completion

Key responsibilities

Maintain a safe, efficient, and consistent operational environment at Nova Academy so that students, staff, and families benefit from a dependable, high-trust campus experience every day.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • At least 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities support, site operations, or related operational roles
  • Proficiency with foundational technology tasks including device setup, troubleshooting, and account administration
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication abilities
  • Capacity to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Fluency in both spoken Spanish and English for effective communication
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Availability to work on-site in Austin, TX, or readiness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of operational management experience
  • Prior experience serving as a Google Administrator
  • Background in planning and executing events
