Operations Coordinator   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Take a vacant building. Make it a fully functioning school. Hand it off. Move to the next city. Repeat. This is rapid-cycle delivery, executed month after month. If that rhythm appeals to you, continue reading.

2 Hour Learning operates schools where students complete their academic work in two hours, then dedicate the remainder of the day to life skills, entrepreneurship, and activities traditional schooling leaves out. The results speak for themselves: students performing in the top 1-2% nationally, progressing at double the standard rate. None of this happens unless the campus is ready. Your role is to ensure that: school campuses delivered fully operational, on schedule and within budget, across an expanding network of micro schools, growth campuses, and flagship vertical campuses in major metropolitan areas.

Timelines are always tight. Move from facility handoff to first day of school in weeks, not months. This requires coordinating vendor schedules, monitoring dependencies every day, and leveraging AI to resolve every outstanding issue before it causes a delay. After a campus opens, you transfer responsibility to the permanent operations team and proceed to the next build.

You'll begin with micro-campus buildouts — the fastest, most standardized projects in the portfolio. As the network scales to include growth and flagship campuses, both the scope and complexity of your work will increase accordingly.

When a school opens on schedule and students arrive on Day 1, your work remains invisible. That's what success looks like. Apply today through our assessment process: a cognitive evaluation followed by a practical work sample.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing the complete buildout for each campus under your responsibility: coordinating FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) procurement and installation, interior construction, IT infrastructure, signage, and playspace from facility handoff to opening day
  • Executing a tight delivery schedule against a fixed opening date: organizing vendor workflows, managing interdependencies, and accelerating tasks wherever timelines demand
  • Coordinating and approving vendor deliverables: submitting work scopes, overseeing on-site execution, inspecting against specifications, and formally rejecting work that fails to meet standards
  • Applying AI tools to draft vendor scopes, produce punch lists, monitor open items, and create handoff documentation — the pace of this role makes AI use essential, not optional
  • Implementing standardized site deployment playbooks, confirming completion readiness, documenting structured feedback, and organizing the transition to the ongoing operations team

What you will NOT be doing

  • Running day-to-day facility operations after a campus is live: you transfer ownership to the permanent ops team and advance to the next project
  • Executing hands-on installation or trade work: your responsibility is to direct, inspect, and accept — not to install equipment or run cabling yourself
  • Handling real estate acquisition, permitting, or certificate of occupancy processes: those tasks are completed before the building is assigned to you
  • Working on one project at a leisurely pace: micro-campus buildouts are fast, and another one is always queued
  • Navigating unclear ownership or shared accountability: each buildout has a single owner from handoff through opening day

Key responsibilities

Deliver fully operational campuses on time and within budget, from building handoff through opening day.

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum 2 years in operations, facilities, or project delivery
  • Track record of identifying and repairing a broken process, with measurable outcomes: cost reduction, time savings, or quality improvement
  • Experience managing a multi-step project from start to finish, including documented completion
  • Proven vendor management capability: enforce quality standards and challenge contractors when performance falls short
  • Experience managing 2 or more concurrent projects or sites without losing track of critical details
  • Consistent use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to accelerate work and maintain organization
  • US-based and authorized to work without visa sponsorship
  • Able to travel 60–80% of the time (3–4 days per week)

Nice to have

  • Prior involvement in a physical buildout or site activation in any sector: retail, restaurants, healthcare, office environments, or comparable industries
  • Experience in construction project management, tenant improvement, commercial fit-out, or facilities management
  • Hands-on exposure to FF&E, IT setup, signage, or commercial interior work, even in a coordinator or assistant capacity
  • Experience with a project tracking platform (Wrike, Notion, Procore, Asana, Monday.com, or similar) for task or timeline management

About Crossover

What you will learn

  • How to execute complex buildouts under compressed timelines: every campus you open represents a delivery cycle that most project managers require years to accumulate in other contexts
  • How to advance in project complexity — micro-campus buildouts are your starting point; perform well, and your next assignment will involve more systems, more vendors, greater complexity, and additional cities
  • How to integrate real AI workflows into daily operational work: not a tool used sporadically, but the foundation for how scopes are drafted, punch lists are tracked, and handoffs are documented
  • A validated site deployment methodology that you'll both implement and refine — your structured field observations directly influence how future campuses are built across the network
