Description

Opening a school is routine. Doing it consistently, with increasing speed and precision, is not.

2 Hour Learning is constructing a nationwide education network built on AI-powered learning that delivers a full day's instruction in two concentrated hours. Expansion must match the rigor and exactness of the educational model. This position ensures that outcome. You will control every phase of new campus development—from initial site identification through full operational readiness—while establishing frameworks that make every successive launch faster, more efficient, and more reliable.

This is not a conventional project management position. Your mandate is not simply to oversee—it is to remove barriers to expansion. That requires decisive judgment on site suitability, direct engagement with permitting and construction challenges, vendor negotiation, and aggressive timeline management. Simultaneously, you will systematize each element of the process into structured, AI-enabled workflows that diminish manual intervention and enhance forecasting precision over time.

What you will be doing

  • Validate site viability by assessing zoning, permitting, cost, and timeline constraints through structured analysis augmented by AI tools
  • Manage several school construction projects concurrently, directing construction managers, clearing obstacles, and delivering on-time, on-budget completions
  • Prepare comprehensive capital project proposals that bring stakeholders into alignment on scope, budget, and execution approach
  • Oversee vendor selection, RFP processes, and contract negotiations with an emphasis on velocity, quality, and fiscal discipline
  • Break down expansion processes into discrete work components and create AI-supported systems that accelerate timelines and enhance reliability

  • Functioning as a passive status tracker dependent on contractor or partner updates
  • Focusing exclusively on a single stage (e.g., site selection or construction alone) without accountability for the complete result
  • Depending on improvised, manual methods that restart from scratch at each new location
  • Referring issues upward without personally addressing permitting, design, or construction challenges
  • Consuming months in stakeholder alignment without pushing toward a definitive decision

Key responsibilities

Direct the complete expansion cycle of new school sites by delivering fully functional campuses on reliable schedules while systematically decreasing time, expense, and uncertainty through AI-enabled processes.

Candidate requirements

  • Documented experience leading a minimum of one real estate development or construction initiative from site selection to opening with complete ownership
  • Background managing multiple simultaneous builds or capital projects with direct accountability for scheduling, coordination, and problem resolution
  • Deep working knowledge of zoning, permitting, construction, and vendor management, including the ability to interact directly with general contractors, architects, and regulatory authorities
  • Proven capacity to evaluate tradeoffs involving cost, schedule, and feasibility with clear, quantifiable results
  • Experience refining or designing complex operational processes (e.g., permitting workflows, design coordination, construction execution)
  • Demonstrated skill in converting complex workflows into structured, repeatable frameworks and enhancing them iteratively
  • Track record of leveraging tools (AI or other technologies) to minimize manual effort, expedite decisions, or increase execution velocity
  • Strong ownership orientation with the capacity to function effectively in ambiguous environments and deliver tangible outcomes
  • Willingness and capacity to travel up to 60% to active construction sites nationwide and be present on-site during pivotal development and opening phases
  • Current US residence and authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
