Construction Project Manager   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Most construction jobs require you to execute a plan. This one requires you to control the schedule—and correct it when circumstances disrupt it.

2 Hour Learning is building a national network of microschools that deliver a full day of education in just two hours through AI. This model relies on velocity and accuracy in physical execution. Every permitting holdup, every on-site sequencing error, every missed transition slows growth. This role is designed to prevent those breakdowns and transform construction into a reliable, scalable system.

You will work on-site to deliver builds. Managing contractors. Maintaining schedules. Addressing sequencing problems before they cause setbacks. Simultaneously, you will leverage AI and digital platforms to minimize manual tasks, enhance transparency, and speed up delivery. This is active project management. You are the one who intervenes when schedules drift and restores momentum.

If you have worked in or around construction but have been held back by weak coordination, lack of accountability, or constant crisis management, this is your opportunity to take ownership and execute properly—at scale.

What you will be doing

  • Manage on-site construction operations, collaborating directly with contractors to confirm work proceeds in correct sequence and on time
  • Take ownership of project schedules, monitor milestones, flag risks proactively, and lead corrective measures when delays emerge
  • Utilize platforms such as Procore, Asana, or MS Project to organize tasks, records, and progress across live construction projects
  • Assist with permitting processes by monitoring submissions, addressing review feedback, and coordinating with relevant parties to advance approvals
  • Deploy AI technologies to speed up planning, documentation, and decision processes, cutting manual workload and boosting execution pace

What you will NOT be doing

  • Monitoring dashboards from a distance without stepping in when schedules begin to slip
  • Overseeing projects from a strategic level only, disconnected from field conditions and sequencing realities
  • Depending on legacy, manual methods to monitor progress or communicate with project teams
  • Sidestepping challenging discussions with contractors or stakeholders when timelines are jeopardized
  • Delaying action on issues while waiting for complete information

Key responsibilities

Ensure on-time completion of school construction projects by directly managing field coordination, maintaining schedule discipline, and enhancing speed and reliability through digital tools and AI.

Candidate requirements

  • Hands-on experience in construction delivery (field coordination, contractor oversight, or schedule management) with the capacity to detail a specific project, your contribution, and how you navigated execution obstacles
  • Experience controlling or coordinating a project schedule, including building timelines, monitoring milestones, and enforcing due dates, with at least one instance of addressing a delay or variance
  • Competency with at least one digital project management platform (e.g., Procore, Asana, MS Project) and the ability to describe its application on an actual project
  • Understanding of construction trade sequencing and the ability to illustrate a case where sequencing choices affected project timing
  • Practical knowledge of permitting processes (submissions, reviews, revisions, AHJ engagement) with direct participation in at least one cycle
  • Proven use of AI tools to expedite actual work assignments, including a concrete example of the tool applied, output created, and how accuracy was confirmed
  • Availability and willingness to be present on-site at least 3 days per week, with approximately 60% travel throughout the United States depending on project requirements
  • Based in the United States and authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience managing multiple active construction projects simultaneously
  • Background in rapid-growth or fast-paced construction settings where schedules are significantly compressed
  • Desire to enhance construction workflows through automation or process standardization
