Construction Project Lead   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Most construction positions require you to execute according to a plan. This position requires you to control the schedule—and restore it when circumstances disrupt it.

2 Hour Learning is expanding a nationwide network of microschools built to deliver a complete day of education in only two hours through AI. That approach relies on execution speed and accuracy in physical environments. Each permitting holdup, every on-site sequencing error, every communication gap decelerates growth. This role is designed to remove those breakdowns and transform construction into a reliable, scalable process.

You will operate in the field ensuring builds are completed. Managing contractors. Maintaining schedules. Resolving sequencing challenges before they cause setbacks. Simultaneously, you will leverage AI and digital platforms to minimize manual tasks, enhance transparency, and speed up delivery. This is not hands-off oversight. You are the individual who intervenes when schedules fall behind and restores momentum.

If you have worked near construction but have been held back by inadequate coordination, limited accountability, or perpetual crises, this is your opportunity to assume ownership and execute properly—at scale.

What you will be doing

  • Manage on-site construction operations, collaborating directly with contractors to confirm work proceeds in proper sequence and according to schedule
  • Control and enforce project schedules, monitoring milestones, spotting risks in advance, and initiating corrective measures when setbacks arise
  • Utilize platforms such as Procore, Asana, or MS Project to organize tasks, documentation, and updates across ongoing projects
  • Facilitate permitting processes by monitoring submissions, addressing reviewer feedback, and coordinating with authorities to advance approvals
  • Deploy AI tools to streamline planning, record-keeping, and decision processes, cutting down manual workload and boosting execution velocity

What you will NOT be doing

  • Monitoring progress passively from a dashboard without stepping in when schedules drift
  • Overseeing projects solely from a strategic level without engaging with field conditions and sequencing realities
  • Depending on legacy, manual methods to monitor status or coordinate with teams
  • Sidestepping challenging discussions with contractors or stakeholders when timelines are jeopardized
  • Delaying action to address problems while waiting for complete information

Key responsibilities

Ensure on-time delivery of school construction projects by proactively managing field coordination, maintaining schedules, and enhancing speed and reliability using tools and AI.

Candidate requirements

  • Hands-on experience in construction delivery (field coordination, contractor oversight, or schedule management) with the capacity to detail a particular project, your involvement, and how you addressed execution obstacles
  • Experience controlling or coordinating a project schedule, including developing timelines, monitoring milestones, and maintaining deadlines, with at least one case of addressing a delay or schedule change
  • Competency with at least one digital project management platform (e.g., Procore, Asana, MS Project) and the capability to describe its application on an actual project
  • Familiarity with construction trade sequencing and the ability to outline a scenario where sequencing choices affected project timing
  • Practical knowledge of permitting procedures (submissions, reviews, modifications, AHJ coordination) with direct participation in at least one cycle
  • Proven application of AI tools to expedite actual work assignments, including a concrete example of the tool employed, outputs produced, and validation methods used
  • Availability and readiness to be on-site a minimum of 3 days per week, with roughly 60% travel throughout the United States depending on project requirements
  • Based in the United States and legally authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous construction projects
  • Familiarity with fast-moving or high-growth construction settings where schedules are significantly compressed
  • Motivation to enhance construction workflows through automation or process optimization
