Construction Project Lead   $100,000 USD/year

Description

In most construction positions, you execute against a schedule. In this one, you control the timeline—and recover it when conditions deviate.

2 Hour Learning is building a nationwide microschool network engineered to compress a full day of education into two hours using AI. That model requires both speed and precision in physical execution. Each permitting holdup, each on-site sequencing error, each coordination gap delays growth. This role is designed to remove those inefficiencies and transform construction into a reliable, repeatable process.

You will work directly on-site to ensure builds progress. Managing contractors. Holding schedules. Resolving sequencing conflicts before they escalate into setbacks. Simultaneously, you will leverage AI and digital systems to minimize manual overhead, increase transparency, and drive faster outcomes. This is active, interventional project leadership. You are the person who acts when timelines drift and restores momentum.

If you've worked near construction but found yourself frustrated by poor coordination, inconsistent accountability, or reactive problem-solving, this is your opportunity to own the process and execute it correctly—at scale.

What you will be doing

  • Manage on-site construction execution, collaborating directly with contractors to ensure tasks are performed in proper sequence and according to schedule
  • Take ownership of project timelines, monitoring key milestones, surfacing risks proactively, and initiating corrective measures when delays emerge
  • Leverage platforms such as Procore, Asana, or MS Project to organize tasks, manage documentation, and track progress across live construction sites
  • Facilitate permitting processes by monitoring submissions, addressing review comments, and coordinating stakeholder engagement to expedite approvals
  • Deploy AI-driven tools to streamline planning, documentation, and decision workflows, cutting manual work and improving delivery speed

What you will NOT be doing

  • Monitoring dashboards remotely without stepping in when schedules begin to slip
  • Overseeing projects from a distance without engaging with field realities or understanding sequencing dependencies
  • Depending on legacy, paper-based methods to document progress or coordinate teams
  • Sidestepping challenging discussions with contractors or stakeholders when timelines are threatened
  • Delaying action until all data is available instead of moving forward to address emerging issues

Key responsibilities

Ensure on-time delivery of school construction projects by managing on-site coordination, maintaining schedule discipline, and enhancing speed and reliability through digital tools and AI.

Candidate requirements

  • Hands-on experience in construction delivery (on-site coordination, contractor oversight, or schedule management) with the capacity to describe a specific project, your responsibilities, and how you addressed execution obstacles
  • Experience managing or coordinating a project schedule, including building timelines, monitoring milestones, and maintaining deadlines, with at least one example of addressing a delay or schedule deviation
  • Proficiency in at least one digital project management platform (e.g., Procore, Asana, MS Project) and the ability to explain its application on an actual project
  • Familiarity with construction trade sequencing and the ability to describe a scenario where sequencing choices affected the project schedule
  • Practical knowledge of permitting workflows (submissions, reviews, revisions, interactions with authorities having jurisdiction) with direct participation in at least one cycle
  • Proven application of AI tools to speed up real work activities, including a specific example of the tool applied, output produced, and validation methods used
  • Willingness and capability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week, with approximately 60% travel across the United States depending on project requirements
  • Based in the United States and eligible to work without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously
  • Background in rapid-growth or time-compressed build environments where schedules are tightly constrained
  • Enthusiasm for refining construction workflows through automation or process design
