Outdoor Program Operations Coordinator   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is a full-time, on-campus position based in Austin.

If you instinctively map out structure when you encounter disorder, this role will suit you well. Alpha is designed for students who progress rapidly, seek meaningful challenges, and are ready for genuine accountability. We combine demanding academics with practical life skills and a focused 2-Hour Learning framework so learners advance with speed and confidence. We are looking for a systems builder who can transform a dynamic school environment into a streamlined, high-functioning operation—every transition, every exchange, every element executed precisely.

At our Austin location, you will be the operator who keeps everything running: protecting time for concentrated study, maintaining safe and organized daily operations, and removing friction so Guides can dedicate full attention to mentorship. You will oversee facility workflows, frontline technology support, and communication with families, building an environment where ambition is the standard and self-reliance is cultivated. If you appreciate clear expectations, decisive action, and measurable results, this work is a strong match.

Apply to help build a campus where students accelerate their learning, families experience the impact, and operational precision is the foundation of success.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the daily schedule with accuracy so 2-Hour Learning sessions begin punctually, remain distraction-free, and conclude effectively.
  • Addressing frontline technology needs (equipment configuration, basic diagnostics) and coordinating with IT when necessary.
  • Upholding a secure, well-ordered campus: emergency drills, incident documentation, vendor management, and facility preparedness.
  • Maintaining transparent communication with students, families, and team members; resolving matters quickly and recording outcomes.
  • Enabling campus events—orientations, program milestones, inventory and space coordination—so the site consistently operates at readiness.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or designing coursework; Guides manage student development while you operate the underlying systems.
  • Working remotely from a back room; your responsibilities are forward-facing and directly influence student outcomes and family confidence.
  • Engaging in tasks that fail to enhance speed, security, or the caliber of learning.

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that the campus setting remains secure, prepared, and conducive at all times so students and staff can concentrate on learning and development rather than operational concerns.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (any discipline)
  • 2+ years managing complex operations in education, events, hospitality, or another service-intensive sector.
  • Composed under pressure; forward-thinking problem-solver capable of balancing competing demands without sacrificing precision.
  • Proficient with foundational IT support and Google Workspace tools.
  • Precise, professional written and spoken communication that builds credibility.
  • Eligible to work in the United States; able to be present on-site in Austin, TX (visa sponsorship unavailable).
