Regulatory Launch Coordinator   $100,000 USD/year

Description

This role isn't about paperwork — it's about launching actual schools.

2 Hour Learning is redefining how education works, allowing students to reclaim their time. We use AI-driven personalization to condense a traditional school day into two concentrated hours, freeing students to spend the rest of their day developing practical, real-world capabilities instead of remaining seated in conventional classrooms. But before any of this innovation can take place, there's a critical first step: a school must open — with full legal compliance, safety clearances, and on schedule. This is your responsibility.

In this position, you won't be drafting policies or overseeing from afar. You'll operate in the field (and in transit), transforming signed leases into operational campuses: investigating local regulatory frameworks, contacting code enforcement officials, securing necessary authorizations, liaising with construction crews, and deploying AI resources to accelerate timelines by weeks beyond conventional expectations. You'll collaborate directly with veteran operators and build teams — not from an office chair, but at construction sites and municipal offices, delivering outcomes you can identify and declare, "I made that opening happen."

This position is designed for a rapid learner seeking more than résumé padding. You'll deliver meaningful outputs, assume responsibility early, and advance quickly. If you thrive on converting disorder into organized task lists and phone conversations into official approvals, we're interested in speaking with you.

What you will be doing

  • Investigating local regulatory obligations and converting bureaucratic complexity into executable action plans using AI resources and authoritative documentation
  • Assembling and filing accurate, comprehensive submissions — covering licenses, inspections, and exemptions — and monitoring their progress through approval
  • Communicating with municipal staff, synchronizing with contractors, and ensuring construction schedules align with regulatory timelines
  • Maintaining tracking systems and dashboards to provide teams with visibility into completed tasks, current obstacles, and upcoming priorities
  • Traveling 3-4 days per week to U.S. cities to advance school launch activities on-site

What you will NOT be doing

  • Relying on screen-based speculation about regulations — you'll confirm details directly from authoritative sources
  • Waiting for direction from others — this role values proactive problem-solving, not passive task completion
  • Spending time drafting generic documents — we leverage AI to enhance precision, not produce filler
  • Remaining in high-level planning mode — this is hands-on execution with concrete deadlines and tangible outcomes
  • Constantly living out of suitcases — travel is frequent but deliberate, focused, and fully expense-reimbursed

Key responsibilities

Enable compliant, punctual campus openings by integrating AI-powered research, construction coordination, and proactive stakeholder engagement across multiple jurisdictions.

Candidate requirements

  • U.S.-based and legally authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Available to travel 60-80% of the time to U.S. cities and states
  • Proven use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity) for research, planning, or communication tasks
  • Strong communicator — personable on calls, precise in written formats, effective with diverse stakeholders
  • History of meeting or surpassing deadlines in high-velocity environments
  • Meticulous attention to detail — every document, signature, and follow-up action is accurate
  • Fast learning capability — rapidly grasps unfamiliar regulatory frameworks, procedures, or technologies
  • Able to manage multiple projects, schedules, and external collaborators concurrently

Nice to have

  • Experience in construction-related, operations-intensive, or compliance-focused roles (internships included)
  • Academic or professional background in public policy, business, communications, or legal fields
  • Prior experience resolving complex logistical challenges in employment, internships, or volunteer settings
