Description

Are you a technical expert with a deep understanding of software architecture and how architectural decisions can impact the total cost of ownership of software? Do you want to work with the latest cloud technologies without being distracted by management or client-facing responsibilities?

Trilogy is a software leader with a growing portfolio of hundreds of products that run on the public cloud. Unlike most companies that waste time obsessing over bill-hacking or making one-time cost optimization decisions with poor technical foundations, our FinOps team focuses on architecture-level optimization that does not degrade the quality of our software.

In this role, you will be working with the team that built CloudFix, an Automated AWS spend management tool that has optimized over 45,000 AWS accounts with zero downtime and no performance degradation. You will have a powerful laboratory for FinOps innovation at your disposal, consisting of talented technical architects that implement your cost optimization decisions, which will directly impact the bottom line.

Does this sound too good to be true? Don’t worry, this is real. Apply now for a chance to supercharge your cloud architecture expertise while making cost optimizations at scale.

What you will be doing

  • Developing expertise in the architecture of our products and AWS technical deployment
  • Analyzing and building models that diagnose the most impactful opportunities to reduce costs
  • Making technical decisions that programmatically find opportunities to reduce cloud spending across products

What you will NOT be doing

  • Managing teams, projects, or customer relationships
  • Negotiating with vendors
  • Grinding for incremental improvements (this role focuses on big wins)

Key responsibilities

Identify repeatable, scalable, and risk-conscious reductions in cloud costs that have a broad impact across products and applications.

Candidate requirements

  • 7+ years of experience making important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open source technologies
  • Experience making important cloud cost decisions at a company with an annual cloud spend of at least USD 1 million
  • 2+ years of experience shipping production-quality code
  • 2+ years of experience as the decision-maker for the use of cloud-based services such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
