Description

If you take pride in spotless deployments, systems that never go down, and fixes that stay fixed — this role is made for you. We're looking for someone who sees bugs as puzzles, not nuisances. Someone who prefers quality over quick wins. Someone who wants full-stack ownership and actually gets it.

You’ll be the quiet engine behind a clean, stable platform that powers seamless experiences across desktop and mobile. As the team’s first engineer, you won’t be hemmed in by layer-specific roles or bureaucratic dev chains. Instead, you’ll own the codebase from frontend to backend, manage releases, monitor production, and shape the foundation for future growth.

This isn’t a place for constant feature churn or shiny tech experiments. It's a role for a pragmatic problem-solver who builds systems that last — and likes it that way. You’ll work alongside a product-focused leadership team and have the space and trust to do what you do best: make things work, and keep them working. If you want impact without chaos, structure without micromanagement, and autonomy without silos — we should talk.

What you will be doing

  • Debug and resolve issues across React, TypeScript, and Python systems using root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain and upgrade dependencies, runtimes, and services (e.g., Node.js, Stripe, Firebase) to prevent downtime.
  • Manage deployments via GitHub and Vercel, ensuring safe, tested, and consistent production releases.
  • Monitor system performance, triage alerts, and implement fixes using tools like Sentry, Mixpanel, Firebase, and Mux.
  • Support updates to the Webflow marketing site and analytics tooling for the business and marketing teams.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Writing greenfield features week after week — this role is about reliability and maintenance, not product churn.
  • Sitting in endless roadmap or sprint planning meetings — your work is driven by impact, not ceremonies.
  • Juggling partial ownership over one slice of a stack — here, you own the whole thing.
  • Being micromanaged — you'll be trusted to prioritize, execute, and keep the system humming.

Key responsibilities

Ensure platform stability and readiness for future growth by owning maintenance, deployment, and quality across the full stack.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven solo or lead developer experience maintaining production web systems
  • Expert in TypeScript, React, and Python
  • Skilled at identifying and resolving bugs through root-cause analysis
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and Vercel
  • Proficient in responsive/mobile design and cross-browser testing
  • Comfortable upgrading runtimes and third-party services (e.g., Node.js, Stripe, Firebase)
  • Familiar with Sentry, Mixpanel, Algolia, Mux, Webflow, and Zapier
  • Able to operate independently and prioritize long-term code quality

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Background in frontend or QA roles that grew into full-stack ownership
  • Prior experience working in a small team, startup, or freelance capacity
