VP of Financial Operations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

This isn’t FP&A as you know it. It’s financial ops for builders.

At 2 Hour Learning, you won’t be reporting on stale budgets or waiting on BI teams. You’ll build the models, dashboards, and controls that give operators and executives the clarity they need to make confident decisions—daily. Your work powers everything from school launches to strategic pivots, and it needs to be fast, accurate, and trusted.

You’ll own a live, AI-accelerated finance system. That means integrated P&L models for each school and vertical, rolling 12–18 month forecasts that stay within 72 hours of reality, and dashboards that surface the two or three levers that really matter. You’ll build it all using Klair, Syft, and Retool—no engineering support required.

If you want your models to drive execution, not just explain it, this is the job. You won’t be on the sidelines. You’ll be at the center of how we move.

What you will be doing

  • Build and maintain dynamic 3-statement models for each school and vertical — tying enrollment, staffing, and CapEx into one cohesive forecast.
  • Update rolling 12–18 month forecasts weekly using the latest data and scenario-test upside/downside risks.
  • Deliver executive dashboards that run on live data — highlighting key levers and enabling daily, confident decision-making.
  • Use AI and automation to detect anomalies, track variances, and eliminate spreadsheet bottlenecks across finance operations.
  • Write crisp memos that summarize financial risk, strategic options, and budget implications — at a board-ready level, in under 72 hours.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Managing a slow budget process — your forecasts evolve with the business in real time.
  • Policing cost centers or chasing down receipts — you’ll focus on clarity and control, not bureaucracy.
  • Waiting on BI teams — you build the tools, dashboards, and models yourself.
  • Drowning in noise — your job is to surface the few insights that change the trajectory.
  • Producing reports no one reads — your work shows up in decisions within days.

Key responsibilities

Deliver always-current financial models, forecasts, and dashboards that power daily decisions and strategic clarity across a rapidly growing network of schools.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Math (CPA/CFA/MBA is a plus)
  • U.S.-based and authorized to work without sponsorship
  • Willing to travel ~25% to campuses across the U.S.
  • 3–6 years in investment banking, private equity, Big 4 corp finance/M&A (not audit), or high-growth FP&A
  • Proven experience building integrated 3-statement models tied to U.S. GAAP
  • Comfortable delivering investor-grade analysis and recommendations under tight deadlines
  • Daily user of AI/automation tools (e.g., GPT, Klair, Syft, Retool, NetSuite automations)

Nice to have

  • ERP experience in NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP
  • Familiarity with multi-site education, facilities, or ops-heavy industries
  • Experience with board-level reporting or investor-facing materials
  • Track record of building AI-automated dashboards or low-code finance tools
  • Exposure to high-end service environments with exacting financial standards
