Software Architect   $100,000 USD/year

Description

This position is for a Full-Stack Engineer ready to tackle complex technical problems and ship features that create measurable impact. You will contribute to AI-driven products designed to reshape how learners engage with content and achieve their goals. The emphasis is on disciplined engineering—building systems that scale, remain maintainable, and deliver real value.

Your work will support products redefining education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-inspired learning interface.
  • TeachTales: Delivers personalized, story-driven content that enhances student comprehension.
  • TimeBack: Functions as an intelligent learning assistant, embedding itself into existing applications to coach students proactively.
  • Athena: Employs AI-generated video and assessment tools to produce quantifiable improvements in academic performance.

This role is centered on producing working software that generates tangible results. You will leverage AI tooling and cloud-native infrastructure to construct full-stack solutions addressing substantive challenges—not simply closing tickets. You are expected to deliver quickly while maintaining quality, selecting the most straightforward correct approach that reconciles immediate velocity with enduring maintainability.

If you are prepared to address demanding technical obstacles and ship features that matter, we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

  • Design and Deliver Complete Features: Own user stories end-to-end; refine requirements, architect scalable approaches, implement both backend and frontend layers, validate thoroughly, and deploy to production
  • Diagnose and Resolve Defects: Conduct root cause investigations, address underlying issues rather than surface symptoms, and prevent future regressions through strategic testing
  • Elevate Engineering Standards: Conduct reviews of technical plans and pull requests to enforce clarity, simplicity, and correctness, preventing technical debt before it accumulates

What you will NOT be doing

  • Crafting elaborate UIs or intricate backend systems without clear purpose
  • Executing specifications mechanically without grasping the underlying challenge
  • Spending excessive time in meetings debating roadmaps and priorities or coordinating with multiple stakeholders
  • Merely delivering features; your accountability extends to solving genuine user problems

Key responsibilities

  • Applying AI to create software that addresses authentic user needs, ships rapidly, and sustains long-term maintainability

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience writing production-grade code for both frontend and backend of web applications (framework agnostic).
  • Proven ownership: Track record of owning entire modules, product features, or teams—not merely executing isolated tasks
  • Self-sufficient execution: Capability to remove your own blockers, establish your own rhythm, and navigate ambiguous contexts
  • Practical experience incorporating generative A.I. into daily development workflows
