Lead Software Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Are you a Full-Stack Engineer who excels at tackling complex problems and shipping high-impact features? Join us to create cutting-edge AI-powered products that reshape how people learn and develop. Your focus will be on delivering excellence, building products that scale, remain maintainable, and drive meaningful impact.

Our products are revolutionizing education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures in a TikTok-inspired learning format.
  • TeachTales: Captivates students through personalized, enchanting storytelling that enhances comprehension.
  • TimeBack: Functions as a learning copilot, integrating seamlessly with existing applications to coach students proactively.
  • Athena: Delivers measurable academic results through AI-generated videos and assessments.

This position is designed to create tangible impact through production-ready software. You'll leverage AI tools and cloud-native technology to construct full-stack systems that address meaningful challenges, not simply complete tickets. You'll be required to ship rapidly while maintaining quality, selecting the simplest viable solution that balances immediate delivery with long-term sustainability.

If you're prepared to tackle sophisticated technical problems and ship impactful features, we want to connect with you.

What you will be doing

  • Ship Complete Full-Stack Features: Drive user stories from concept to deployment; validate requirements, architect scalable systems, implement backend and frontend code, conduct thorough testing, and release to production
  • Track Down and Resolve Bugs: Perform root cause analysis on issues, address underlying problems (not superficial symptoms), and prevent regressions through strategic testing
  • Elevate Code Quality Standards: Assess plans and pull requests to maintain clarity, simplicity, and accuracy, preventing technical debt from accumulating

What you will NOT be doing

  • Creating pixel-perfect interfaces or intricate backends without clear purpose
  • Executing specifications mechanically without grasping the underlying problem
  • Spending time in prolonged meetings about roadmaps and priorities or tracking down stakeholders
  • Simply delivering features; your responsibility extends to solving genuine problems

Key responsibilities

  • Applying AI to develop software that addresses authentic user needs, ships quickly, and remains maintainable over time

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience developing production code for both frontend and backend of web applications (any framework).
  • Proven ownership: Documented experience owning entire modules, product features, or teams, beyond isolated task contributions
  • Self-sufficient execution: Capacity to unblock yourself, establish your own rhythm, and navigate forward in uncertain conditions
  • Practical experience using generative A.I. in daily development workflows
