Lead Software Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Are you a Full-Stack Engineer who excels at tackling complex technical problems and shipping features that matter? Join us to create innovative AI-driven products that redefine how people learn and develop. Your focus will be on exceptional execution, ensuring our solutions are scalable, maintainable, and deliver real impact.

You'll contribute to products transforming education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-style learning interface.
  • TeachTales: Captivates students through personalized, imaginative storytelling that enhances comprehension.
  • TimeBack: Functions as a learning copilot, integrating with existing applications to coach students proactively.
  • Athena: Deploys AI-generated videos and assessments to produce measurable academic results.

This position is designed to create tangible impact through production-ready software. You'll leverage AI tooling and cloud-native infrastructure to construct full-stack systems that address substantive challenges, not simply complete tasks. You'll be expected to deliver rapidly while maintaining quality, selecting the simplest viable solution that reconciles immediate velocity with sustained maintainability.

If you're prepared to address sophisticated technical obstacles and ship features with meaningful outcomes, we want to connect with you.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and Deploy Full-Stack Capabilities: Drive user stories from concept to delivery; clarify specifications, architect scalable systems, implement backend and frontend logic, conduct comprehensive testing, and release to production
  • Identify and Resolve Defects: Diagnose issues using root cause methodology, address underlying problems (not superficial symptoms), and prevent regressions through intelligent testing strategies
  • Elevate Code Standards: Assess design proposals and pull requests to ensure clarity, simplicity, and accuracy, preventing technical debt at inception

What you will NOT be doing

  • Creating pixel-perfect interfaces or intricate backend systems as ends in themselves
  • Mechanically executing specifications without grasping the underlying challenge
  • Spending time in prolonged meetings debating roadmaps and priorities or coordinating across teams
  • Simply delivering features; you'll be accountable for solving genuine problems

Key responsibilities

  • Applying AI to develop software that addresses authentic user needs, delivers quickly, and remains maintainable over time

Candidate requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience writing production code for web applications' frontend and backend (any framework).
  • Strong ownership: Proven track record owning complete modules, product features, or teams, not just contributing isolated tasks
  • Independent execution: Capacity to unblock yourself, establish your own rhythm, and navigate paths forward in ambiguous contexts
  • Experience in using generative A.I. in your day-to-day development work
