Business Operations Manager   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-run campus operates with clarity, order, and warmth—sustained by someone managing countless decisions in the background to maintain that standard.

Nova Academy is built to serve students and families who hold higher expectations for their school experience. Those expectations reach beyond the classroom. They surface in the quality of family communication, the sense of safety students experience, the fluidity of daily routines, and the speed at which challenges are addressed. This position ensures all of those elements function reliably, every single day.

In this position, you assume responsibility for all non-academic campus operations. You cultivate trust with families by delivering clear and timely communication. You protect student welfare by overseeing safety protocols and incident management. You handle facilities, logistics, and operational workflows so that staff remain focused on students. You also make certain that technology enhances learning instead of disrupting it.

This is a practical, community-oriented role suited to someone who thrives on variety, accountability, and service. If you are motivated by resolving challenges, supporting a community, and building an environment where students and staff succeed, this position provides substantial ownership and influence.

What you will be doing

  • Establishing strong connections with parents, students, and staff via proactive, bilingual outreach
  • Overseeing campus safety functions, including entry protocols, health incidents, emergency drills, record-keeping, and family notifications
  • Managing daily campus functions such as attendance workflows, transportation logistics, facilities maintenance, and front-office coordination
  • Assisting with onboarding and training of new staff to facilitate seamless entry into campus operations and culture
  • Administering student devices and campus technology as the primary on-site tech contact and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or providing academic support
  • Mentoring Guides or contributing to curriculum design
  • Functioning in a narrowly scoped or exclusively clerical capacity
  • Working within a static, entirely predictable environment
  • Transferring issues to others rather than seeing them through to resolution

Key responsibilities

Ensure Nova Academy functions with safety, efficiency, and reliability so that students, staff, and families encounter a high-trust, professionally managed campus every day.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • At least 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities support, site operations, or comparable operational roles
  • Comfort performing basic technology tasks including device setup, troubleshooting, and account administration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both spoken Spanish and English
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Availability to work on-site in Austin, TX, or willingness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of operational management experience
  • Experience serving as a Google Administrator
  • Experience planning and executing events
