IT Coordinator   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-run campus feels orderly, calm, and inviting—because someone is consistently making countless decisions in the background to maintain that environment.

Nova Academy is built to serve students and families who demand excellence from their school experience. That standard goes beyond the classroom. It appears in the quality of family communication, in the sense of security students experience, in the seamlessness of daily routines, and in the speed with which issues are addressed. This position exists to ensure all of those elements function reliably, day in and day out.

In this position, you hold responsibility for the complete non-academic functioning of the campus. You earn family trust by delivering clear, timely updates. You protect student safety by overseeing protocols and incident management. You handle facilities, logistics, and operational tasks so that staff can remain focused on students. You also make sure technology enables learning instead of disrupting it.

This is a practical, community-oriented role suited to someone who thrives on variety, accountability, and service. If you find energy in resolving challenges, supporting a community, and building an environment where students and staff succeed, this position provides real ownership and meaningful impact.

What you will be doing

  • Cultivating strong connections with parents, students, and staff through proactive, bilingual outreach
  • Overseeing campus safety functions, including entry protocols, health response, emergency drills, record-keeping, and parent communication
  • Managing daily campus functions such as attendance tracking, transportation logistics, facility maintenance, and office coordination
  • Assisting with onboarding and orientation for new staff to facilitate seamless integration into campus operations and culture
  • Administering student devices and campus technology, acting as the on-site technical contact and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or providing academic support
  • Mentoring Guides or building curriculum materials
  • Working within a narrowly scoped or strictly clerical position
  • Functioning in a slow-paced, highly routine environment
  • Passing problems to others rather than driving them to completion

Key responsibilities

Ensure Nova Academy runs safely, smoothly, and reliably so that students, staff, and families experience a trustworthy, well-organized campus each day.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study is not specified)
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities management, site operations, or comparable operational functions
  • Proficiency with fundamental technology tasks including device configuration, troubleshooting, and account management
  • Solid written and spoken communication abilities
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks with careful attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate fluently in both spoken Spanish and English
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Availability to work on-site in Austin, TX, or readiness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of operational management experience
  • Background serving as a Google Administrator
  • Experience organizing and executing events
