School Operations Coordinator   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A high-functioning campus feels orderly, approachable, and calm—because someone behind the scenes is making hundreds of choices to sustain that environment.

Nova Academy is designed to meet the expectations of students and families who demand more from their educational experience. Those expectations reach beyond classroom instruction. They appear in the quality of family communication, in how secure students feel, in the efficiency of daily routines, and in how swiftly issues are addressed. This position ensures that all of those elements function reliably, each day.

In this position, you assume full accountability for the non-academic operations of the campus. You earn family trust through transparent, punctual communication. You protect student safety by managing protocols and responding to incidents. You coordinate facilities, logistics, and everyday operations so teachers and staff can concentrate on students. You also ensure that technology enables instruction instead of disrupting it.

This is a practical, community-focused role suited to someone who values variety, accountability, and supporting others. If you find energy in resolving challenges, strengthening a community, and building an environment where students and staff succeed, this position provides genuine ownership and meaningful influence.

What you will be doing

  • Cultivating positive relationships with parents, students, and staff using proactive, bilingual outreach
  • Directing campus safety functions, including entry protocols, health events, emergency drills, record-keeping, and family notifications
  • Coordinating daily campus functions such as attendance workflows, transportation planning, facility maintenance, and office management
  • Assisting with onboarding and orientation for new staff to promote seamless adoption of campus practices and values
  • Administering student devices and campus technology, acting as the primary on-site technical resource and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or assisting with academic teaching
  • Mentoring Guides or contributing to curriculum design
  • Performing in a narrowly scoped or exclusively clerical capacity
  • Working within a slow-paced, entirely predictable setting
  • Delegating challenges rather than driving them to completion

Key responsibilities

Ensure Nova Academy functions safely, effectively, and reliably so that students, staff, and families encounter a trustworthy, well-managed campus each day.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • At least 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities support, site operations, or comparable operational functions
  • Proficiency with fundamental technology tasks including device configuration, problem-solving, and account management
  • Solid written and spoken communication abilities
  • Capacity to handle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
  • Capability to communicate fluently in both spoken Spanish and English
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Availability to work on-site in Austin, TX, or readiness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of operational management experience
  • Background serving as a Google Administrator
  • Experience organizing and delivering events
