Description

LOCATION ALERT: This is a full-time, on-site position at our NYC campus.

Are you seeking a break from the mundane educational settings that fail to recognize exceptional talent? At Alpha, we're redefining education for students who demand more than the conventional classroom. We're looking for a driven individual to ensure our operations run smoothly, enabling extraordinary learning experiences.

Alpha is more than just a private school - we're grooming future leaders through rigorous academics and life skills. Our students complete high school academics by 8th grade, scoring 5s on APs and achieving 1350+ SAT scores. As a Facilities Support Specialist, you'll be the operational backbone of our cutting-edge campus, ensuring our 2-Hour Learning model operates seamlessly as students advance at twice the usual pace.

Your role will encompass managing campus safety protocols to tech administration, allowing our guides to focus on mentoring these outstanding minds. Unlike conventional school admin roles, you'll thrive in an environment where academic competition is encouraged, independence is nurtured, and students are driven to reach their full potential. If you're eager to support an educational revolution that shapes not only brilliant minds but also well-rounded leaders, join us in shaping the future of gifted education.

What you will be doing

  • Oversee the smooth functioning of daily campus operations.
  • Provide basic tech support, including simple device troubleshooting and liaising with IT support as needed.
  • Foster strong community relationships with students, parents, and staff through effective communication.
  • Enforce and maintain campus safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for everyone.
  • Assist with key campus activities, such as events, staff onboarding, and facility management.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Engaging in academic teaching or curriculum development - our guides are dedicated to student mentorship while you focus on operational excellence.
  • Working in isolation without a significant impact on student success and family satisfaction.
  • Handling routine administrative tasks that do not directly support our mission of accelerated, limitless learning.

Key responsibilities

Be the driving force behind a groundbreaking school that is transforming education - manage a campus where operations are seamless, students excel, and families recognize they've discovered something extraordinary.

Candidate requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing diverse operations in education, events, hospitality, or similar fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage crises with composure, take initiative, and independently handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in basic IT troubleshooting and Google Workspace administration.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that foster community trust.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship and able to work on-site in NYC.
