Description

Are you a DevOps engineer who relishes the challenge of ensuring systems run seamlessly, preventing outages before they occur? If diving into complex legacy infrastructure, crafting efficient designs, and automating repetitive tasks excites you, then this opportunity is tailor-made for you. We seek a seasoned DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist eager to excel in high-pressure settings where 99.9% uptime is non-negotiable. You'll manage a diverse portfolio of acquired products, each with unique characteristics, migrating them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while developing monitoring and automation to minimize incidents.

Unlike other companies that focus on a single stack, we aim for the consolidation and optimization of multiple stacks without any disruptions. While others separate databases, we strategically consolidate them to enhance cost-efficiency and management across our portfolio. This role is not for someone who merely maintains existing infrastructure; it’s for someone who envisions a fragmented environment and immediately starts designing improvements.

You'll be responsible for everything from infrastructure migrations to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost efficiency. You'll diagnose and resolve issues, plan and execute seamless cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and automate a significant portion of your own responsibilities using AI/ML-driven workflows. This position grants you the authority to make infrastructure decisions without waiting for approvals from those less familiar with the technical intricacies.

If you're an independent thinker who thrives on unraveling complex systems to make them operate impeccably, this role will be your playground. If you require constant guidance, struggle with multiple tech stacks, or prefer starting from scratch rather than creating order from chaos, this may not be the role for you. If you're ready to take charge of a high-impact infrastructure role with opportunities to build, optimize, and automate at scale, apply today!

What you will be doing

  • Strategically plan and execute sophisticated infrastructure changes, including transitioning from legacy systems to AWS cloud infrastructure and lift-and-shift migrations.
  • Architect and implement comprehensive monitoring strategies, building automation for monitoring, software deployments, and operational workflows.
  • Conduct system monitoring, perform backups, respond to incidents, manage database migrations and configurations, and optimize costs.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending excessive time in Jira and attending endless status meetings—we value proactive solution drivers over problem trackers.
  • Maintaining outdated systems indefinitely—you'll have the freedom to implement significant improvements.
  • Being hindered by bureaucratic approval processes—you'll have the authority to execute immediate solutions for incident resolution.
  • Being confined to narrow technical niches—this role demands a wide range of expertise.
  • Struggling for budget to make critical improvements—we recognize the importance of investing in infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Enhance the reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by establishing robust monitoring, automation, and adhering to AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Extensive expertise in AWS infrastructure (our primary platform—experience with other clouds is insufficient).
  • Proficiency in programming with Python or JavaScript for creating automation and tools.
  • Experience in managing and migrating production databases with various engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL).
  • Advanced skills in Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).
  • Expertise in Linux systems administration.
