Description

You're the engineer who sustains 50+ SaaS products when everyone else is flying blind. We need DevOps professionals who can explore unknown AWS environments, restore order, and drive uptime above 99.9% using proven monitoring, automation, and root-cause analysis. You'll break down complex projects into single-day tasks, deliver production-ready Python or JavaScript, and leverage AI as your assistant.

Many teams talk about "the cloud" while manually nursing servers. We're scaling reliability across dozens of acquired products whose original creators are gone and whose documentation is incomplete. That's the challenge: you'll employ agents and current tooling to understand unfamiliar systems 5–10x faster, document your findings, and automate solutions so the same incident never recurs. Rather than judging you on certifications and brand names, we'll observe you troubleshoot in real time, author a genuine 5-Whys that identifies one preventable root cause, and construct automations that endure production conditions.

This isn't an L2 "follow the script" position. Here, you author the scripts, architect the deployment from dev through staged to 10% to 100% with soak periods and rollback criteria, and create the monitors that detect corner cases. You reject risky changes before they reach production. You distinguish infrastructure failures under your ownership from application bugs that Engineering addresses, and you route permanent remediation to the appropriate team.

You'll work at the engineering heart of reliability, managing infrastructure projects, incident response with RCAs, and change requests accompanied by copy-paste-executable runbooks. If you've already maintained a significant SaaS product and are ready to extend that expertise across a fleet, join us. Bring deep AWS knowledge, production-grade development skills, strict scope discipline, and daily, mission-critical reliance on AI tooling. If you're prepared to maintain continuous operations, please apply.

What you will be doing

  • Executing sophisticated infrastructure migrations, consolidations, production-quality automations, and monitoring enhancements
  • Investigating production incidents, deploying immediate remediations, and documenting root cause analyses with permanent solutions assigned to the owning teams
  • Authoring, reviewing, and performing production changes, including assessing whether a proposed change is safe to deploy

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending your time in Jira and perpetual status calls - we prize individuals who can deliver solutions, not merely monitor issues
  • Supporting legacy systems forever - you'll be authorized to pursue substantial improvements
  • Waiting on bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the autonomy to implement immediate fixes during incidents

Key responsibilities

  • Advance reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure throughout our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Extensive AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our core platform - experience with other clouds alone is insufficient)
  • History of owning substantial production infrastructure and resolving production outages autonomously (not simply executing a runbook)
  • Proficiency scripting with Python and Bash for routine administrative tasks
  • Background managing and migrating production databases across multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Linux systems administration proficiency
