Consultant   $100,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position requires in-person presence at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional schools focus on teaching students what to think. This position focuses on teaching them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a new model of high school—one where students don't passively absorb lectures or memorize facts. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and grow. They launch projects, experiment with ideas, and acquire practical skills that many adults never develop. Your responsibility is ensuring they not only do this work, but do it at a high level.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and cultivate the confidence, communication ability, and competence needed to thrive beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theory. You are here to coach performance. You will establish clear expectations, maintain accountability, and challenge students to produce work that meets real-world standards.

This position is designed for individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside traditional education—whether building a product, growing an audience, operating within a startup, or delivering results in a demanding environment—and are ready to leverage that background to develop the next generation. If you seek a conventional teaching position, this isn't it. If you want to influence how ambitious high school students think, act, and perform, this is your opportunity.

If you have genuine professional accomplishments and want to dedicate your time to guiding motivated teenagers toward their full capability, this is the role. Apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Design practical workshops that teach students to build genuine social media followings
  • Provide coaching on content strategy, covering ideation through optimization using AI tools
  • Support students in transforming their personal areas of expertise into viable brands
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group coaching to help students establish goals, maintain consistency, and produce concrete outputs
  • Maintain accountability to rigorous standards in communication, output quality, and execution
  • Facilitate real-world projects (entrepreneurship, marketing, software development, etc.) with an emphasis on measurable outcomes
  • Monitor student development across the 3 C's and take action when performance declines
  • Provide clear, direct communication to students and parents regarding progress, shortfalls, and action plans

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching through traditional lectures or following a prescribed curriculum
  • Evaluating large volumes of homework or emphasizing theoretical understanding
  • Supporting disengaged students or reducing expectations to preserve comfort
  • Working within a slow-moving, bureaucratic educational institution

Key responsibilities

Produce quantifiable improvement in students' confidence, communication, and practical capability by guiding them to perform consistently at a high standard.
