IMPORTANT NOTE: This position requires on-site presence at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional schools focus on instructing students what to believe. This position centers on training them how to deliver results.

Alpha is constructing an unconventional high school—one where students bypass lectures and rote learning. Instead, they create, launch, articulate, and advance. They initiate ventures, validate concepts, and cultivate practical competencies that elude most professionals. Your mission is to ensure they accomplish this effectively and to a high standard.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch enterprises, manage initiatives, and cultivate the confidence, articulation skills, and competence necessary for success beyond the classroom. Your role is not theoretical instruction. Your role is execution coaching. You will establish rigorous expectations, maintain accountability, and drive students to produce work that meets real-world standards.

This position suits individuals who have accomplished substantive work outside academic settings—developed a product, expanded an audience, operated within a startup, or delivered results in dynamic environments—and who wish to leverage that background to cultivate emerging talent. What you will be doing

  • Design experiential workshops that teach students methods for cultivating genuine social media audiences
  • Mentor students on content development strategy, spanning concept generation through AI-assisted optimization
  • Support students in transforming their specialized knowledge domains into commercial brands
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group coaching to help students establish objectives, maintain consistent execution, and produce concrete deliverables
  • Maintain rigorous accountability standards across student communication quality, work output, and commitment
  • Shepherd students through practical projects (entrepreneurial ventures, marketing campaigns, software development, etc.) while demanding measurable outcomes
  • Monitor student development across the 3 C's framework and take action when performance declines
  • Deliver transparent communication to students and parents regarding advancement, deficiencies, and recommended actions

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conducting traditional classroom lectures or following standardized curricula
  • Evaluating numerous homework assignments or emphasizing abstract academic concepts
  • Accommodating disengaged students or compromising standards to preserve comfort levels
  • Functioning within a sluggish, bureaucratic educational institution

Key responsibilities

Produce quantifiable advancement in students' confidence, communication abilities, and practical competencies by coaching them toward sustained high-level execution.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven record of substantial personal accomplishment in at least one practical domain: launching a business, building an audience, generating revenue, publishing research, competing at elite levels, or equivalent achievement
  • Effective coaching and mentoring capabilities, with demonstrated ability to motivate adolescents
  • 3+ years of experience coaching/mentoring teenagers
  • Superior communication and presentation capabilities
  • Proficiency with AI/technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
  • Available to work on-site in Austin, TX. Relocation support is provided
  • Authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Extensive expertise in at least one practical field (entrepreneurship, medicine, sales, technology, creative industries, finance, athletics) that you can apply with precision during sessions and workshops
  • Background working in a startup or rapid-growth organization at any capacity
