Personal Brand Instructor   $100,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position requires in-person attendance at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional schools focus on teaching students what to think. This position is designed to teach them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a fundamentally different approach to high school education—one where students don't passively absorb lectures or memorize facts. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and develop. They launch projects, validate ideas, and acquire real-world capabilities that most adults never obtain. Your responsibility is to ensure they actually execute, and execute at a high standard.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and cultivate the confidence, communication skills, and competence needed to thrive beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theory. You are here to guide execution. You will establish demanding standards, maintain accountability, and challenge students to create work that holds up in professional contexts. As the program expands, your impact grows; your workshops become embedded in the school's core operations, and the students you develop serve as evidence of what this model can achieve.

This position is designed for individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside traditional academic settings, launched a product, built an audience, worked within a startup, or produced results in a dynamic environment, and who want to leverage that experience to develop emerging talent. If you're seeking a conventional teaching position, this isn't it. If you want to influence how ambitious young people think, operate, and perform, this is the opportunity.

If you've achieved something tangible in your professional life and want to dedicate your time to pushing driven teenagers toward their full capability, this is the place. Apply now

What you will be doing

  • Create and facilitate practical workshops (40% of your time) covering subjects including entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal branding, and additional real-world topics; leveraging your own career background
  • Provide 1:1 coaching (60% of your time) to students working through actual projects in defined areas, such as business ventures, marketing initiatives, and software products, employing strategic questions to identify obstacles and drive concrete progress
  • Maintain rigorous expectations around confidence, communication, and competence; stepping in when output declines and establishing clear commitments during each session
  • Instruct students on leveraging AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude) for content generation, refinement, and efficiency
  • Maintain direct communication with students and parents regarding development, shortfalls, and action items

What you will NOT be doing

  • Presenting traditional lectures or following a standardized curriculum
  • Evaluating large volumes of homework or emphasizing theoretical concepts
  • Providing excessive support to unmotivated students or compromising standards for the sake of comfort
  • Working within a slow-moving, bureaucratic educational system

Key responsibilities

Produce quantifiable improvement in students' confidence, communication abilities, and practical competence by coaching them to execute consistently at an elevated standard.

  • Documented ability to coach teenagers through reluctance or evasion

  • Direct, transparent communication approach: confident presenting to groups and providing candid feedback to teenagers and parents
  • AI/tech proficiency (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
  • Willing to work on-site in Austin, TX. Relocation assistance is available
  • Able to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Nice to have
