Marketing Director   $100,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional schools focus on telling students what to think. This position centers on teaching them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a fundamentally different high school—one where students don't attend lectures or memorize material. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and grow. They launch projects, experiment with ideas, and cultivate real-world capabilities that many adults never acquire. Your responsibility is to ensure they follow through, and do so at a high standard.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and build the confidence, communication skills, and competence necessary to thrive beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theory. You are here to coach execution. You will establish a high standard, hold students accountable, and drive them to create work that holds up in professional contexts.

This position is designed for individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside academic settings—built a product, expanded an audience, operated within a startup, or delivered results in a dynamic environment—and are ready to channel that experience into developing the next generation. If you seek a conventional teaching position, this isn't it. If you want to influence how ambitious teenagers think, act, and perform, this is your opportunity.

If you have built something real in your career and want to dedicate your time to pushing driven teenagers toward their potential, this is the place. Apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Design and deliver hands-on workshops that teach students to build authentic social media followings
  • Provide coaching on content strategy, from initial ideation through optimization with AI tools
  • Support students in transforming their personal expertise into marketable personal brands
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group coaching to help students establish goals, execute reliably, and produce tangible outputs
  • Maintain accountability to rigorous standards across communication quality, work output, and consistency
  • Shepherd students through real-world projects—including businesses, marketing initiatives, coding—and demand measurable outcomes
  • Monitor student performance across the 3 C's and step in when results begin to decline
  • Maintain transparent communication with students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and action items

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching traditional lectures or following a standardized curriculum
  • Correcting stacks of homework or emphasizing theoretical knowledge
  • Coddling unmotivated students or compromising standards to preserve comfort
  • Working within a slow, bureaucratic educational institution

Key responsibilities

Generate measurable improvements in students' confidence, communication ability, and real-world competence by coaching them to execute consistently at a high standard.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven record of significant personal achievement in at least one real-world area: launching a company, building an audience, generating revenue, publishing research, competing at an elite level, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring ability, with a capacity to motivate teenagers
  • 3+ years of experience coaching/mentoring teenagers
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency with AI and technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
  • Available to work on-site in Austin, TX. Relocation support is provided
  • Authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Specialized expertise in at least one practical field (entrepreneurship, medicine, sales, technology, creative industries, finance, athletics) that you can integrate into workshops and coaching sessions with depth
  • Background working in a startup or high-growth company at any capacity
