Brand Marketing Specialist   $100,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in-person role based at our Austin, Texas campus.

Most educational institutions teach students what to think. This position exists to train them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a fundamentally different high school—one where students don't passively absorb lectures or memorize material. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and grow. They launch projects, validate ideas, and cultivate practical skills that many adults never acquire. Your responsibility is ensuring they not only do this work, but do it to a high standard.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and build the confidence, communication ability, and competence needed to thrive beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theory. You are here to coach execution. You will establish demanding standards, maintain accountability, and challenge students to produce work that holds up in real-world contexts.

This position is designed for individuals who have accomplished something substantial outside traditional academic settings—whether building a product, cultivating an audience, operating within a startup, or delivering results in high-velocity environments—and who want to leverage that experience to develop the next generation. If you seek a conventional teaching position, this isn't it. If you want to influence how ambitious teenagers think, operate, and perform, this is the opportunity.

If you've built something meaningful in your career and want to dedicate your time to propelling motivated teenagers toward their potential, this is your platform. Apply now

What you will be doing

  • Design and facilitate hands-on workshops that teach students how to build genuine social media followings
  • Provide coaching on content strategy, covering everything from ideation through optimization with AI tools
  • Support students in transforming their personal areas of expertise into viable brands
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group coaching to help students establish goals, maintain consistent execution, and produce concrete outputs
  • Maintain accountability to elevated standards in communication quality, work output, and follow-through
  • Mentor students through practical projects (entrepreneurial ventures, marketing initiatives, coding, etc.) and demand measurable outcomes
  • Monitor student development across the 3 C's and take action when performance declines
  • Maintain clear communication with both students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and action items

What you will NOT be doing

  • Presenting traditional lectures or following a standardized curriculum
  • Evaluating stacks of homework or emphasizing theoretical content
  • Accommodating disengaged students or compromising standards for the sake of comfort
  • Working within a slow-moving, bureaucratic educational institution

Key responsibilities

Produce quantifiable improvement in students' confidence, communication ability, and practical competence by coaching them to execute consistently at an elevated level.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven record of significant personal achievement in at least one practical domain: launching a company, building an audience, generating revenue, publishing research, competing at an elite level, or equivalent
  • Effective coaching and mentoring capabilities, with demonstrated ability to motivate teenagers
  • 3+ years of experience coaching/mentoring teenagers
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency with AI/technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
  • Available to work on-site in Austin, TX. Relocation support is provided
  • Authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Specialized expertise in at least one practical field (entrepreneurship, medicine, sales, technology, creative sectors, finance, athletics) that you can integrate into sessions and workshops with depth
  • Background working in a startup or high-growth organization at any capacity
