Head of Brand Marketing   $100,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position requires in-person presence at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional schools focus on teaching students what to think. This position focuses on teaching them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a new model for high school education—one that replaces lectures and memorization with building, shipping, communicating, and growing. Students launch projects, experiment with ideas, and cultivate practical skills that many adults never acquire. Your role is to ensure they follow through and perform at a high standard.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and build the confidence, communication skills, and competence needed to thrive beyond the classroom. Your focus is not on theory—it's on coaching execution. You will establish rigorous standards, maintain accountability, and challenge students to create work that holds up in real-world contexts.

This position is designed for individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside academia—whether building a product, cultivating an audience, operating within a startup, or delivering results in a high-intensity setting—and are ready to leverage that expertise to develop the next generation. If you seek a conventional teaching position, this role is not suitable. If you are motivated to influence how driven teenagers think, act, and perform, this is the opportunity.

If you have achieved meaningful results in your career and are ready to dedicate your time to guiding motivated teenagers toward their full potential, apply now.

What you will be doing

  • Design and facilitate hands-on workshops that teach students to build genuine social media followings
  • Provide coaching on content strategy, covering everything from idea generation to optimization with AI tools
  • Support students in transforming their areas of personal expertise into marketable personal brands
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group coaching to help students establish goals, maintain consistent execution, and produce concrete deliverables
  • Maintain accountability to rigorous standards in communication, work quality, and follow-through
  • Mentor students through real-world initiatives (entrepreneurship, marketing, software development, etc.) and demand measurable outcomes
  • Monitor student development across the 3 C's and step in when performance declines
  • Provide transparent communication to students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and action plans

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conducting traditional lectures or adhering to a standard curriculum
  • Reviewing stacks of homework or emphasizing theoretical knowledge
  • Coddling unmotivated students or reducing expectations to preserve comfort levels
  • Working within a slow-moving, bureaucratic school system

Key responsibilities

Produce quantifiable improvement in students' confidence, communication ability, and real-world competence by coaching them toward consistent high-level execution.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven record of significant personal accomplishment in at least one real-world area: launching a business, building an audience, generating revenue, publishing research, competing at an elite level, or equivalent achievement
  • Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities, with an ability to motivate and inspire teenagers
  • 3+ years of experience coaching/mentoring teenagers
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency with AI and technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
  • Willingness to work on-site in Austin, TX. Relocation assistance available
  • Authorization to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Specialized expertise in at least one real-world domain (entrepreneurship, medicine, sales, technology, creative industries, finance, athletics) that you can apply with precision in sessions and workshops
  • Background working in a startup or high-growth company at any capacity
