IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, Texas campus.
Traditional schools focus on telling students what to think. This position focuses on teaching them how to execute.
Alpha is creating a fundamentally different high school—one where students don't passively absorb lectures or memorize facts. Instead, they build products, ship work, communicate effectively, and grow continuously. They launch projects, validate ideas, and acquire practical skills that many adults never develop. Your responsibility is to ensure they consistently execute at a high standard.
You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and cultivate the confidence, communication skills, and capabilities necessary for success beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theoretical instruction. You are here to coach execution. You will establish high expectations, maintain accountability, and challenge students to create work that meets real-world standards.
This position suits individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside traditional academic settings—whether building a product, cultivating an audience, working within a startup, or delivering results in demanding environments—and are ready to leverage that experience to develop the next generation. What you will be doing
- Design practical workshops that teach students how to build genuine social media audiences
- Provide coaching on content strategy, covering everything from idea generation to AI-powered optimization
- Support students in transforming their personal expertise into commercially viable brands
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group coaching to help students establish goals, maintain execution consistency, and produce concrete deliverables
- Maintain rigorous standards for student communication, work quality, and commitment
- Facilitate real-world projects (including businesses, marketing initiatives, coding) while demanding measurable outcomes
- Monitor student development across the 3 C's and take action when performance declines
- Maintain transparent communication with students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and action plans
What you will NOT be doing
- Teaching traditional lectures or following standardized curricula
- Evaluating homework assignments or emphasizing purely theoretical concepts
- Accommodating disengaged students or compromising standards for the sake of comfort
- Working within a slow-moving, bureaucratic educational institution
Key responsibilities
Produce quantifiable improvements in students' confidence, communication abilities, and practical capabilities by coaching them to execute consistently at an elevated standard.
Candidate requirements
- Proven record of significant personal achievement in at least one real-world area: launching a company, building an audience, generating revenue, publishing research, competing at an elite level, or equivalent accomplishment
- Effective coaching and mentoring capabilities, with demonstrated ability to motivate teenagers
- 3+ years of experience coaching/mentoring teenagers
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Proficiency with AI and technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
- Available to work on-site in Austin, TX. Relocation support is provided
- Authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship
Nice to have
- Specialized expertise in at least one practical domain (entrepreneurship, medicine, sales, technology, creative fields, finance, athletics) that you can integrate into coaching sessions and workshops with depth
- Prior experience operating within a startup or high-growth company at any capacity
