Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional schools tell students what to think. This position teaches them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a fundamentally different high school—one where students don't passively attend lectures or cram information. Instead, they build, ship, communicate, and grow. They launch projects, validate ideas, and acquire real-world capabilities that many adults never attain. Your responsibility is ensuring they actually do this work, and do it at a high standard.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and cultivate the confidence, communication skills, and competence necessary for success beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theory. You are here to coach execution. You will establish a rigorous standard, enforce accountability, and challenge students to produce work that holds up in professional contexts.

This position suits individuals who have accomplished something substantive outside academic settings—built a product, cultivated an audience, operated within a startup, or delivered results in a demanding environment—and wish to leverage that experience to develop emerging talent. If you seek a conventional teaching position, this isn't it. If you want to influence how driven teenagers think, act, and perform, this is the opportunity.

If you've achieved something tangible in your career and want to dedicate your time to propelling motivated teenagers toward their capabilities, this is the place. Apply now

What you will be doing

  • Design hands-on workshops that teach students how to build authentic social media audiences
  • Provide coaching on content strategy, covering everything from idea generation to AI-assisted optimization
  • Support students in transforming their personal areas of expertise into viable brands
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group coaching to help students establish goals, maintain consistent execution, and produce concrete deliverables
  • Maintain rigorous standards for communication quality, work output, and commitment to follow-through
  • Supervise students through practical projects (entrepreneurship, marketing, software development, etc.) while demanding measurable outcomes
  • Monitor student development across the 3 C's and take action when performance declines
  • Provide transparent communication to students and parents regarding progress, shortcomings, and recommended actions

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conducting conventional lectures or following a standardized curriculum
  • Reviewing homework assignments or emphasizing abstract theoretical concepts
  • Coddling disengaged students or compromising standards for the sake of comfort
  • Working within a sluggish, bureaucratic educational institution
