Admissions Specialist   $100,000 USD/year

Description

NOTE: This position requires onsite presence in New York City.

Alpha School is transforming the landscape of education. By combining AI-powered learning with mastery-based advancement and outstanding educational guides, Alpha enables students to explore profound interests while reaching exceptional academic results.

You will guide families through the entire enrollment process—from initial inquiry to completed registration—ensuring that every touchpoint embodies Alpha's precision, approachability, and academic rigor. Your work will include managing day-to-day correspondence, organizing impactful admissions experiences, and keeping applicant data accurate to support sound enrollment decisions.

If you excel in dynamic, purpose-driven settings—where responsiveness, systems thinking, and accuracy translate directly into family experience and enrollment success—this hybrid role combines remote flexibility with consistent in-person involvement at admissions activities.

What you will be doing

Manage and respond to the admissions inbox, delivering prompt, thoughtful, and professional correspondence to prospective families (both virtually and face-to-face)

Handle and monitor digital admissions documentation with rigorous attention to accuracy

Attend all admissions events—including information sessions, shadow days, and community gatherings—both on campus and virtually

Collaborate directly with Lead Guides to arrange student shadow day schedules

Maintain current and precise admissions records, systems, and follow-up workflows

What you will NOT be doing

  • Set admissions policy or render final enrollment decisions
  • Function in an exclusively back-office capacity with no direct family contact
  • Work within a slow-moving, heavily bureaucratic system
  • Prioritize relationship development without robust operational follow-through

Key responsibilities

This position ensures that a smooth, high-conversion admissions process fuels robust enrollment outcomes and family satisfaction throughout Alpha's campus network.

Candidate requirements

  • 2+ years of customer-facing experience
  • Proven administrative and organizational capabilities; you are dependable and precise
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated experience managing accurate applicant records or CRM data
  • Comfortable managing both remote responsibilities and in-person campus duties
  • Able to adapt swiftly and succeed in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting
  • Authorized to work in the US and available to work onsite in NYC; based in NY or willing to relocate

Nice to have

  • Experience in education, enrollment management, or school operations
  • Prior involvement in admissions events or high-touch onboarding workflows
  • Familiarity with rapidly evolving, technology-driven environments
