Enrollment Operations Director   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions are designed for throughput. This one is designed to uphold quality.

Alpha is constructing a school model among the most ambitious in existence. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both learners and educators. Students reliably progress faster than national averages, supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons are reserved for enrichment, autonomy, and practical competency development. The model delivers results. But sustained success depends on enrolling the right families.

This is your responsibility.

You will manage the complete enrollment pathway for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and concluding with onboarding. This is not a segmented function. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices are driven by sound reasoning. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate informed discussions, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not volume maximization. The objective is mission alignment.

We welcome candidates from premium service sectors outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive admissions programs, high-end hospitality, executive administration, exclusive membership services, or entrepreneurs who have directly overseen high-stakes client relationships from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to execute a personalized, multi-phase process with discernment, precision, and accountability.

If your career has centered on delivering exceptional service where credibility, professionalism, and client experience define institutional reputation, this role will be recognizable—simply directed toward work that produces meaningful impact.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are recruiting in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial outreach through final onboarding.
  • Facilitating diagnostic conversations to evaluate compatibility prior to offering solutions or advising on progression.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across varying enrollment phases, maintaining transparent tracking and timely follow-up.
  • Directing campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment discussions that articulate results, standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Ensuring precise CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and consistent service delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or aggressive conversion methods.
  • Admitting families with poor alignment to satisfy enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing staff or navigating complex hierarchical structures.
  • Transferring responsibility for family engagement across multiple departments.
  • Operating remotely. This position is campus-located by necessity.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a relationship-driven, standards-focused enrollment process that attracts aligned families while safeguarding the quality and outcomes of the Alpha educational model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where client experience directly shapes institutional credibility (education, high-end hospitality, executive services, exclusive membership models, or owner-managed operations).
  • Proven responsibility for a complete client, admissions, or enrollment cycle from initial inquiry through final integration.
  • Experience concurrently coordinating 20+ client, guest, or family engagements across multiple stages, supported by an organized tracking methodology.
  • Capacity to share specific instances of advisory-based decision-making, including cases where you recommended against engagement due to misalignment.
  • Professional correspondence experience with C-level executives, affluent clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these regions: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • U.S. work authorization without requirement for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in competitive independent school admissions or selective program intake.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality sectors, VIP client services, or senior executive support functions.
  • History of developing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or client service protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance enrollment quality, not merely throughput.
