Director of Family Experience and Enrollment   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment functions prioritize volume. This position exists to uphold standards.

Alpha is developing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely demonstrate learning velocity exceeding national benchmarks—validated by measurable outcomes. Afternoons are reserved for deeper exploration, independent work, and practical skill development. The model is proven effective. But it requires the right families to succeed.

This is where your role begins.

You will oversee the complete enrollment process for a campus, spanning initial inquiry to final onboarding. This is not a segmented function. You are accountable for the family experience, for ensuring families comprehend the model clearly, and for verifying that enrollment decisions are made with full understanding. You will evaluate alignment, facilitate informed discussions, and recommend against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not to maximize numbers. The objective is to ensure fit.

We welcome candidates from high-service environments outside traditional education: selective independent schools, competitive programs, luxury hospitality, executive concierge services, premium membership platforms, or entrepreneur-operators who have personally managed sophisticated client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a high-touch, multi-phase process with discernment, precision, and accountability.

If your background includes delivering exceptional service in contexts where trust, discretion, and experience quality are brand-defining, this position will be immediately recognizable—simply applied to work that produces measurable impact.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are currently hiring in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Orange County, Roswell, Chicago, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Dallas-Fort Worth. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, beginning with first contact and concluding with onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-based conversations to evaluate alignment before offering solutions or proposing next actions.
  • Managing 20+ concurrent family relationships across various enrollment stages, maintaining clear tracking and follow-up protocols.
  • Delivering campus tours, student shadow visits, and decision-stage discussions that articulate outcomes, expectations, and model suitability.
  • Sustaining accurate records in CRM and student information systems (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service consistency.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or high-pressure sales methods.
  • Accepting misaligned families to satisfy enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing large teams or navigating complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing responsibility for family experience across multiple roles.
  • Working from a remote location. This role is designed to be campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-trust, selective enrollment process that attracts aligned families while safeguarding the integrity and academic performance of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in contexts where service quality directly influences brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, executive assistance, premium membership, or owner-operated businesses).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment cycle from initial engagement through onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ client, guest, or family relationships concurrently across different stages, supported by a functional tracking and prioritization system.
  • Capacity to share specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you advised against your offering when it was not appropriate.
  • Professional written communication history with senior executives, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these markets: Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; Orange County, CA; Roswell, GA; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; or Dallas-Fort Worth, TX.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in selective independent school admissions or competitive program recruitment.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive support functions.
  • History of developing or refining enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion quality, not merely velocity.
