Enrollment Specialist   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Success in this role depends on your ability to establish trust with a parent within moments of making contact. This position suits someone who thrives on outreach, maintains disciplined follow-up, and can articulate a non-traditional learning model without depending on scripts. If phone-based communication drains you or you prefer work that lacks measurable outcomes, this is not the right opportunity.

Unbound Academy operates as a tuition-free virtual public charter school with a distinctive educational framework. Students complete their core curriculum in concentrated time blocks using AI-enhanced learning tools, then dedicate the remainder of their day to hands-on skill development through enrichment and project-based work. You will serve as the first substantive connection for families considering this alternative.

Your weekly responsibilities include responding promptly to incoming inquiries, shepherding families through each stage of admissions, and converting initial curiosity into completed enrollments. You will also attend and represent Unbound Academy at community events to create new opportunities and increase local visibility. During slower enrollment periods, you will support broader school operations while remaining prepared for the next admissions cycle.

If you're seeking a position where your communication skills, accountability, and initiative directly drive student enrollment outcomes, we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

  • Reaching out to new inbound inquiries within 24 hours and beginning the admissions dialogue by phone
  • Describing Unbound Academy's virtual learning structure and enrollment pathway using straightforward, accessible language
  • Maintaining disciplined follow-up to advance families from inquiry through application to final enrollment
  • Recording all engagement in a CRM with detailed notes, planned next steps, and accurate pipeline status
  • Planning and facilitating local recruitment activities in Texas or Arizona to introduce the school and generate prospective family interest

What you will NOT be doing

  • Allowing inbound inquiries to sit unattended while managing administrative tasks
  • Relying on scripted responses or functioning as a high-volume call center operator
  • Participating in events without actively engaging audiences or collecting new leads
  • Focusing primarily on internal operations when active enrollment demand requires outreach

Key responsibilities

Transform incoming family interest into qualified, well-informed applicants who successfully complete the enrollment process at Unbound Academy.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in Arizona with availability for a hybrid work arrangement
  • 1–2 years of customer service or other direct customer interaction experience
  • Background working with children or families (examples include schools, camps, childcare, tutoring, or comparable settings)
  • Confident initiating regular phone outreach and guiding families through sequential processes
  • Effective verbal communication abilities with a demonstrated capacity to establish trust rapidly
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms or digital lead management systems

Nice to have

  • Background in admissions, enrollment, inside sales, or lead qualification functions
  • Experience organizing or delivering presentations at community events or outreach initiatives
  • Academic background or training in communications, education, or a related discipline
