Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position requires on-site presence at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional education focuses on what students should think. This position centers on teaching them how to get things done.

Alpha is constructing a new model for high school education—one where students don't passively absorb lectures or commit facts to memory. Instead, they create, launch, articulate, and evolve. They initiate ventures, experiment with concepts, and acquire practical competencies that many adults never attain. Your mission is to ensure they follow through consistently and perform at a high level.

You will collaborate directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage initiatives, and cultivate the confidence, articulation, and competence necessary for success beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theory. You are here to guide execution. You will establish rigorous expectations, maintain accountability, and drive students to generate work that holds up against real-world standards. As the program expands, your impact deepens; your workshops integrate into the school's operational framework, and the students you mentor become evidence of what this approach delivers.

This position suits individuals who have accomplished something substantial outside academic settings—launched a product, cultivated an audience, operated within a startup, or delivered results in a dynamic environment—and wish to leverage that background to cultivate the next generation. If you seek a conventional teaching position, this isn't it. If you aim to influence how driven teenagers reason, operate, and deliver, this is your opportunity.

If you've achieved tangible outcomes in your career and want to dedicate your time to elevating motivated teenagers toward their full capability, this is the place. Apply now

What you will be doing

  • Develop and facilitate practical workshops (40% of your time) covering subjects including entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal branding, and additional real-world areas; leveraging your own professional background
  • Provide 1:1 coaching to students (60% of your time) as they work through actual projects in designated domains—businesses, marketing initiatives, coding products—employing questions to identify obstacles and drive toward quantifiable advancement
  • Maintain rigorous standards for confidence, communication, and capability; stepping in when performance declines and establishing concrete commitments during each interaction
  • Instruct students in leveraging AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude) for content generation, refinement, and enhanced productivity
  • Engage directly with students and parents regarding advancement, shortfalls, and future actions

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conducting traditional lectures or following a standardized curriculum
  • Evaluating large volumes of homework or emphasizing theoretical concepts
  • Accommodating disengaged students or reducing expectations to preserve comfort
  • Functioning within a slow-moving, bureaucratic educational institution

  • Direct, transparent communication approach: confident presenting to audiences and providing candid feedback to teenagers and parents
