Founder Success Manager   $250,000 USD/year

Description

Coach young founders, not students in theory.

Most educators believe high school should prepare teenagers for what comes next. We believe what comes next begins today. Founders School operates as a four-year high school built for students unwilling to postpone building something meaningful until adulthood. These students aren't simulating entrepreneurship through hypothetical case studies. They're founding actual companies, collaborating with proven entrepreneurs, becoming fluent in AI, and tackling challenges that carry real weight. Our expectations reflect the ambition of our students: launch a million-dollar business, uncover problems worthy of solutions, and achieve mastery in AI ahead of the adult curve. Your responsibility is to ensure this ambition remains actionable and achievable.

You won't deliver lectures or prescribe operational strategy for student ventures. Instead, you'll coach a cohort of teenage entrepreneurs daily, ensuring they maintain accountability, navigate obstacles, and sustain forward momentum when the entrepreneurial journey becomes challenging. You'll recognize when to push them harder, when to offer encouragement, and when to facilitate introductions to the appropriate mentor or tool. Curriculum design, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, and the broader founder ecosystem supply the technical and strategic expertise. You supply the discipline, structure, and drive that convert ambition into measurable achievement.

This position also represents a chance to contribute to something foundational. As part of our founding team in New York City, you'll influence the school's culture, operational frameworks, and the lived experience of students in a model designed to transform what high school can deliver. Your work will extend beyond a single cohort. It will inform the operating template for every Founders School campus launched thereafter. If you're drawn to startup environments, believe that elevated standards yield elevated performance, and are prepared to channel your effort into shaping the next wave of entrepreneurs, we want to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Provide direct coaching and motivation to a cohort of student founders via weekly one-on-one sessions, daily progress check-ins, and team stand-ups designed to ensure continuous, quantifiable advancement.
  • Maintain an exceptionally high standard for execution while delivering the guidance and accountability necessary for students to work through challenges and continue building.
  • Track student progress using FounderOS, detect when students encounter roadblocks, and facilitate connections to mentors, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, or additional resources that drive momentum.
  • Contribute to the development of school culture, rituals, workshops, events, and the daily operational cadence of a premier entrepreneurial high school.
  • Accompany students on travel experiences multiple times annually while cultivating enduring relationships with founders, investors, operators, and entrepreneurial families.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Serving as the lead business consultant or formulating venture strategy for students. FounderOS, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, and external mentors fulfill that function.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or evaluating traditional coursework.
  • Tolerating mediocre effort from students with the capacity for outstanding work.
  • Facilitating workshops beyond your core competencies or defaulting to generic entrepreneurial guidance.
  • Operating within an inflexible institutional framework where administrative barriers obstruct meaningful impact on student outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Establish and sustain an environment in which every student experiences consistent entrepreneurial development through a combination of expert coaching, rigorous accountability, purposeful relationship-building, and a culture that transforms ambitious high school students into competent, action-oriented founders.

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience or high-impact contribution within a startup or high-growth business environment.
  • Sound business judgment and the confidence to engage meaningfully with early-stage founders, while recognizing when to defer to specialized expertise.
  • Proven capacity to coach, inspire, and enforce accountability among high-performing individuals.
  • Consistent, daily application of AI tools to enhance both the quality and efficiency of your output.
  • Exceptional communication abilities and skill in building relationships with students, families, mentors, and founders.
  • Commitment to working full-time on-site in New York City, with periodic travel required throughout the year.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience founding or co-founding a business.
  • Background in coaching, mentoring, or managing programs targeting teenagers or young adults.
  • An active network of founders, investors, operators, or mentors.
  • Experience working in early-stage startups with regular cross-functional responsibilities.
