Student Recruitment Manager   $150,000 USD/year

Description

If you're someone who draws people in, recalls every name, and keeps connections alive long after the initial meeting, this is for you.

Alpha is reimagining education. Students finish their core curriculum in just two hours daily through AI-powered learning, dedicating the remainder of their time to developing essential skills: critical thinking, communication, entrepreneurship, and practical execution. Families select Alpha not due to promotional efforts, but because they encounter something unavailable elsewhere. This position exists to deliver that encounter.

You'll establish and expand the community that attracts outstanding families to Alpha and guides them to choose us confidently over all competing schools. You'll manage the personal dimension of admissions—from a family's first event through enrollment—crafting memorable moments that establish trust well before any commitment. You'll organize events, cultivate relationships, personally guide prospective families, and transform accepted applicants into enrolled students. This position suits someone who has previously built authentic communities, excels when engaging groups, and recognizes that relationships fuel important decisions. You'll collaborate directly with the Director of Admissions, Heads of School, and Admissions Associate while contributing to the framework that will guide Alpha's expansion.

If you've created communities people truly valued joining and the prospect of transforming education excites you, we want to connect.

What you will be doing

  • Plan and deliver high-impact community experiences, including information sessions, parent dinners, campus tours, school fairs, events for accepted families, and partner gatherings.
  • Cultivate meaningful connections with prospective families, supporting them from first inquiry through application and sustaining consistent, personalized communication.
  • Take ownership of high school enrollment yield by designing experiences and outreach strategies that turn accepted families into enrolled families.
  • Develop and energize a dynamic community of current parents, prospective families, and ambassadors who enhance Alpha's standing and referral ecosystem.
  • Keep CRM records precise and work closely with the Admissions Associate and school leadership to deliver a seamless experience for every family.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing aggressive sales techniques or persuading families who aren't a natural match.
  • Handling application processing, interview coordination, or admissions decisions.
  • Developing marketing strategy or brand messaging independently.
  • Leading a team rather than personally cultivating relationships and executing events.
  • Operating remotely. Community building happens in person.

Key responsibilities

Establish a flourishing community that reliably draws exceptional families and converts accepted students into enrolled students, generating consistent admissions growth for Alpha.

Candidate requirements

  • Verified experience establishing and expanding an in-person community from inception.
  • Documented success organizing and executing events from planning through follow-up.
  • Experience influencing or selling to deliberate, high-consideration decision-makers through relationship cultivation rather than transactional methods.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities with capacity to engage authentically with discerning families.
  • Robust organizational capabilities with disciplined CRM management and reliable follow-through.
  • Self-motivated, inventive, and capable of establishing structure in unstructured environments.
  • Commitment to Alpha's mission and conviction that AI is reshaping education's future.
  • Located in New York City or prepared to relocate.
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Background in private school admissions, alumni relations, nonprofit fundraising, hospitality, or experiential events.
  • Existing network within the NYC education or parent community.
  • Active social media or content presence that has generated tangible community-building results.
