Director of Strategic Finance   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Step into the future of financial operations at 2 Hour Learning, where your expertise fuels the engine of growth and innovation. This is not your typical FP&A role. Here, you create the tools that drive strategic decisions every day.

As the guardian of our live, AI-enhanced finance ecosystem, you will craft integrated P&L models and forecasts that stay fresh and relevant, empowering leaders with the insights they need to navigate our dynamic landscape. Utilizing platforms like Klair, Syft, and Retool, you'll build sophisticated systems independently, without the need for engineering assistance.

If you aspire to make a tangible impact and be a pivotal player in our strategic direction, this role is your calling. Join us and be at the heart of our transformative journey.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and sustain dynamic three-statement models for each educational unit, seamlessly integrating enrollment, staffing, and capital expenditures into a unified forecast.
  • Regularly update rolling forecasts spanning 12 to 18 months, using current data and conducting scenario analysis to evaluate potential risks and opportunities.
  • Create executive dashboards that operate on real-time data, spotlighting critical levers to facilitate informed, daily decision-making.
  • Leverage AI and automation to identify anomalies, monitor variances, and streamline finance operations by removing spreadsheet bottlenecks.
  • Craft concise, board-ready memos that outline financial risks, strategic alternatives, and budget impacts within a 72-hour timeframe.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Engaging in slow, outdated budget processes—your forecasts will dynamically evolve with the business.
  • Focusing on bureaucratic tasks like policing budgets or chasing receipts—instead, you'll prioritize clarity and control.
  • Depending on BI teams to build your tools—you'll independently construct the dashboards and models you need.
  • Getting lost in irrelevant data—your mission is to highlight the insights that drive significant change.
  • Generating reports that go unread—your contributions will directly influence decisions within days.

Key responsibilities

Provide continuously updated financial models, forecasts, and dashboards that enable daily decision-making and strategic clarity within our fast-expanding network of schools.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics (CPA/CFA/MBA is advantageous)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Open to traveling approximately 25% of the time to various campuses across the U.S.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance/M&A (excluding audit), or high-growth FP&A environments
  • Demonstrated ability to construct integrated three-statement models compliant with U.S. GAAP
  • Skilled in delivering high-quality analysis and recommendations under tight deadlines
  • Proficient in using AI/automation tools such as GPT, Klair, Syft, Retool, and NetSuite automations on a daily basis

Nice to have

  • Experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP
  • Knowledge of multi-site education, facilities management, or operations-heavy industries
  • Background in board-level reporting or creating investor-facing materials
  • Proven success in developing AI-driven dashboards or low-code financial tools
  • Familiarity with high-end service environments demanding stringent financial standards
