Outdoor Program Operations Coordinator   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person position based at our Austin campus.

If you instinctively build systems out of chaos, this role will suit you. Alpha serves students who advance quickly, seek meaningful challenges, and are ready for genuine responsibility. We combine demanding academics with practical life skills and a focused 2-Hour Learning framework that enables rapid, confident progress. We're looking for an operator who can transform a dynamic school environment into a precise, high-performing system—every transition, every handoff, every element executed flawlessly.

At our Austin location, you'll serve as the operational backbone: protecting focused learning time, ensuring safe and orderly daily function, and removing friction so Guides can dedicate full attention to mentoring. You'll manage facility workflows, frontline technical support, and community correspondence, building a setting where ambition is the standard and independence is deliberately cultivated. If you value clear expectations, decisive action, and measurable results, this work is designed for you.

Apply to build a campus where students advance faster, families experience the impact, and operational precision quietly powers everything.

What you will be doing

  • Executing the daily schedule with accuracy so the 2-Hour Learning sessions begin promptly, remain uninterrupted, and conclude effectively.
  • Providing initial technical support (device configuration, elementary troubleshooting) and managing escalations to IT.
  • Overseeing a secure, orderly campus: emergency drills, incident documentation, vendor coordination, and facility preparedness.
  • Communicating effectively with students, families, and colleagues; resolving issues quickly and recording outcomes.
  • Coordinating campus events—orientation activities, supply logistics, and space allocation—ensuring the site consistently operates at readiness.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or developing curriculum; Guides manage student mentorship while you maintain operational systems.
  • Working remotely from a back-office desk; your role is visible and directly impacts student outcomes and family confidence.
  • Engaging in low-value tasks that don't enhance efficiency, safety, or learning quality.

Key responsibilities

Maintain a campus environment that is consistently safe, prepared, and conducive to learning so that students and staff can concentrate on development and achievement rather than operational concerns.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (any discipline)
  • 2+ years managing complex operations in education, events, hospitality, or a comparable service-intensive setting.
  • Composed under pressure; proactive troubleshooter capable of balancing multiple priorities while maintaining precision.
  • Proficient in basic IT support and Google Workspace management.
  • Professional, respectful written and spoken communication that builds trust.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; able to work on-site in Austin, TX (visa sponsorship not available).
