Description

Operations is not a supporting function here—it is the product.

At 2 Hour Learning, our AI-native K-12 school network spans multiple states and depends entirely on flawless campus operations. Our Operations team does not provide backend support for growth—they engineer it. Every member specializes in one of five critical operational domains, developing deep expertise through direct execution and AI-enhanced skill acquisition:

  • Authorization & Permitting – Navigate multi-state legal frameworks and expedite local permitting processes to open new markets.
  • Physical Build-Out & Maintenance – Manage campus construction, facility upgrades, and vendor accountability to deliver and maintain superior infrastructure.
  • IT Operational Setup – Ensure every new campus launches with complete system readiness—devices, platforms, support structures, and compliance protocols fully operational.
  • Financial Operations – Construct budgets, generate real-time insight dashboards, and enforce audit-ready financial discipline across all schools and business units.
  • PMO – Drive execution of critical technology and marketing projects through vendor performance tracking, dashboards, and granular initiative reporting.

You will build dashboards that eliminate financial ambiguity. Engineer onboarding workflows that cut student setup failures in half. Obtain regulatory clearance in untapped states. Launch campuses ahead of schedule. Or design AI-first operational models that collapse traditional management hierarchies. This is high-stakes, rapid-cycle execution—led by builders, not coordinators.

If you are an operator who identifies friction points and immediately begins constructing solutions—not convening committees—this role will fit. Your systems will underpin the 25–30 schools we will open over the coming year. Your frameworks will set the standard for hundreds of employees and thousands of students. And your results will be undeniable.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of one of five foundational ops domains: Authorization, Build-Out, Platforms, Finance, or PMO
  • Addressing novel challenges in your domain through AI tooling, automation, and fast-cycle experimentation
  • Producing precise specifications, dashboards, or procedural guides that deploy across dozens of campuses
  • Engaging directly with operational realities: campus contractors, regulatory bodies, technical systems, and on-site personnel
  • Visiting campuses as required to deploy or validate your operational solutions

What you will NOT be doing

  • Relying on product or engineering teams to create your operational tools—you will prototype and automate independently
  • Prompting AI to "generate a standard operating procedure" and considering the work complete—you will vibe-code functional solutions
  • Remaining desk-bound in headquarters—travel and on-site delivery are expected
  • Delegating execution of your strategic plans—you will own both design and implementation, start to finish

Key responsibilities

Deliver measurable outcomes within your designated operations pillar by engineering systems that enable rapid-scale school expansion with precision, speed, and AI-native methodology.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in North America with ability to travel 25-75% depending on operational demands
  • 5+ years in a high-velocity, high-autonomy operations environment
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities and written communication proficiency
  • Action-oriented mindset, minimal ego, maximum ownership
  • Background in at least one of the following areas: regulatory compliance, facilities construction, SaaS onboarding, FP&A, or technology vendor management
  • Employs AI as reflexively as others use spreadsheets: naturally, routinely, and across diverse scenarios.
  • Has designed automations, structured repeatable workflows, and explored vibe-coding for productivity or personal interest.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire domain expertise (legal, finance, compliance, systems, etc.)
