Senior Director of Operations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Elite Operators Only: Scale Our AI-Native Schools Revolution

At 2 Hour Learning, operations isn't support—it's our product. Our national network of AI-native K-12 schools thrives or fails on the strength of our systems. We don't need traditional managers; we need builders who see bottlenecks and create solutions. As Senior Director of Operations, you'll master one of five mission-critical domains through real-world immersion and AI-accelerated learning, directly powering our expansion to 25-30 new schools next year.

Your systems won't just maintain our operations—they'll define excellence for hundreds of staff and thousands of students. You'll ship dashboards that illuminate financial blind spots. Design onboarding systems that eliminate errors. Secure regulatory approvals in new markets. Or develop AI-first workflows that replace traditional management layers. This is high-stakes, high-velocity execution where your track record will speak for itself.

What you will be doing

  • Lead one critical operations pillar: Authorization, Build-Out, Platforms, Finance, or PMO with full ownership and accountability
  • Develop innovative solutions to unprecedented challenges using AI, automation, and rapid iteration
  • Create scalable specifications, dashboards, and runbooks that maintain excellence across dozens of school campuses
  • Navigate complex real-world constraints including regulatory requirements, vendor relationships, and staff implementation
  • Execute on-site implementation when necessary, ensuring your systems perform under real-world conditions

What you will NOT be doing

  • Waiting passively for technical resources—you'll prototype and automate solutions independently
  • Settling for superficial AI implementations—your solutions will be battle-tested and functional
  • Operating remotely from headquarters—expect regular travel and hands-on implementation
  • Delegating execution after strategy development—you own the complete outcome cycle

Key responsibilities

Own and deliver exceptional outcomes within your assigned operations pillar by building systems that enable rapid school expansion with uncompromising quality, efficiency, and AI-native precision.

Candidate requirements

  • North America-based with capability to travel 25-75% as operational needs require
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in high-velocity, autonomous operations roles
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities and precise written communication skills
  • Demonstrated action orientation, minimal ego, and maximum ownership mentality
  • Specialized experience in at least one core domain: regulatory compliance, facilities development, SaaS implementation, financial planning and analysis, or technology vendor management
  • Advanced AI utilization skills—employing AI tools with the same fluency others use spreadsheets
  • Proven history of creating automated systems, optimized workflows, and experimental solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly master new domains (legal, finance, compliance, systems)
