Description

Operations is not a support function here—it is the core product.

At 2 Hour Learning, our national network of AI-native K-12 schools depends entirely on the reliability of our campus systems. Our Operations team does not merely "enable" expansion; they are the architects of it. Every team member focuses on one of five mission-critical domains, achieving domain mastery quickly through hands-on execution and AI-enhanced learning:

  • Authorization & Permitting – Obtain multi-state legal clearances and expedite local permitting processes to open new markets.
  • Physical Build-Out & Maintenance – Manage campus construction, facility upgrades, and vendor accountability to deliver and maintain high-standard environments.
  • IT Operational Setup – Deploy every new school with fully integrated systems—hardware, software, technical support, compliance protocols—ready for day one.
  • Financial Operations – Develop budgets, produce real-time insight dashboards, and ensure audit-compliant financial governance across all schools and business lines.
  • PMO – Drive timely delivery of critical technology and marketing projects using vendor performance metrics, dashboards, and granular initiative tracking.

You will create dashboards that reveal hidden financial inefficiencies. Engineer onboarding workflows that cut student setup errors in half. Navigate regulatory pathways in new states. Launch campuses on accelerated timelines. Or develop AI-native processes that eliminate traditional management overhead. This is execution at scale and speed—reserved for builders, not observers.

If you are an operator who identifies friction and immediately starts solving—not convening meetings—you will flourish here. The systems you build will enable the launch of 25–30 schools over the next year. Your contributions will set the operational standard for hundreds of staff members and thousands of students. Your results will be unmistakable.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of one of five operational pillars: Authorization, Build-Out, Platforms, Finance, or PMO
  • Addressing novel challenges in your pillar through AI tools, automation frameworks, and fast iteration cycles
  • Producing clear documentation—specifications, dashboards, or procedural guides—that scale seamlessly across dozens of locations
  • Engaging directly with operational realities: facility vendors, regulatory bodies, technical platforms, and campus staff
  • Visiting campuses as required to deploy solutions or validate their real-world effectiveness

What you will NOT be doing

  • Relying on product or engineering teams to deliver your operational tools—you will build prototypes and automate workflows yourself
  • Prompting AI to "generate a standard operating procedure" and considering the task complete—you will code and refine solutions that deliver real outcomes
  • Operating exclusively from a headquarters—expect regular travel and on-the-ground implementation
  • Delegating execution of your strategic plans to others—you will own both strategy and delivery, start to finish

Key responsibilities

Deliver measurable outcomes within your designated operations pillar by designing and implementing systems that enable rapid school expansion with precision, speed, and AI-driven efficiency.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in North America with availability to travel 25-75% as required
  • 5+ years of experience in a high-velocity, autonomous operations environment
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and written communication
  • Action-oriented mindset, minimal ego, strong sense of ownership
  • Background in at least one of the following areas: regulatory compliance, facilities development, SaaS user onboarding, FP&A, or technology vendor management
  • Applies AI tools as naturally as others use spreadsheets: reflexively, regularly, and across diverse scenarios.
  • Has created automations, streamlined operational workflows, and explored vibe-coding for personal or professional productivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve rapid mastery in new domains (legal, finance, compliance, systems, etc.)
