VP of Educational Operations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Operations is not a support function here—it is the product.

2 Hour Learning runs a national network of AI-native K-12 schools, and our ability to scale depends entirely on operational excellence. Our Operations team doesn't assist expansion—they lead it. Every team member is assigned to one of five strategic domains, developing deep expertise quickly through hands-on execution and AI-powered learning:

  • Authorization & Permitting – Obtain multi-state legal clearance and expedite local permitting to open new markets.
  • Physical Build-Out & Maintenance – Manage campus construction, facility upgrades, and vendor accountability to deliver and maintain superior learning environments.
  • IT Operational Setup – Deploy every new campus with complete system readiness—devices, platforms, support infrastructure, and compliance—from day one.
  • Financial Operations – Construct budgets, produce real-time insight dashboards, and ensure audit-ready financial governance across all schools and business lines.
  • PMO – Drive execution of critical technology and marketing projects using vendor scorecards, dashboards, and initiative tracking.

You will deploy dashboards that eliminate financial blind spots. Engineer onboarding systems that cut student setup errors in half. Win regulatory approval in new jurisdictions. Launch campuses ahead of schedule. Or build AI-native workflows that remove entire layers of traditional oversight. This is high-impact, high-speed execution—carried out by builders, not observers.

If you are an operator who identifies friction points and immediately begins building solutions—not calling meetings—this role will suit you. The systems you create will enable the 25–30 schools we plan to open over the next year. Your work will set the standard for hundreds of employees and thousands of students. And your results will be undeniable.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of one of five operational pillars: Authorization, Build-Out, Platforms, Finance, or PMO
  • Addressing novel challenges in your domain through AI, automation, and iterative problem-solving
  • Creating clear specifications, dashboards, or operational guides that function reliably across multiple campuses
  • Engaging directly with operational realities: campus contractors, regulatory bodies, systems infrastructure, and school personnel
  • Visiting school sites as required to deploy or validate your operational solutions

What you will NOT be doing

  • Relying on product or engineering teams to create your operational tools—you will build prototypes and automate workflows independently
  • Using AI to generate generic documents and considering the work complete—you will vibe-code functional solutions that deliver real outcomes
  • Operating exclusively from headquarters—you should expect regular travel and on-the-ground delivery
  • Delegating execution of your strategic plans to others—you will own both design and implementation from start to finish

Key responsibilities

Deliver measurable results within your designated operations pillar by designing systems that enable rapid, accurate, AI-driven school expansion at scale.

Candidate requirements

  • Based in North America and able to travel 25-75% as needed
  • 5+ years in a fast-paced, high-autonomy ops role
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills
  • Bias for action, low ego, high ownership
  • Experience in one of the following: regulatory compliance, facilities buildout, SaaS user onboarding, FP&A, or tech vendor management
  • Uses AI the way others use spreadsheets: instinctively, frequently, and across use cases.
  • Has built automations, systemized workflows, and experimented with vibe-coding for fun or efficiency.
  • Track record of rapid domain ramp-up (legal, finance, compliance, systems, etc.)
