Description

Operations here is not a support function—it is the foundation of the product itself.

At 2 Hour Learning, our AI-native K-12 school network across the country depends entirely on operational systems that function flawlessly. Our Operations team does not merely support growth—they are the architects of it. Every team member specializes in one of five essential domains, rapidly developing expertise through hands-on execution and AI-enhanced learning:

  • Authorization & Permitting – Obtain multi-state legal clearance and expedite local permitting to open new markets.
  • Physical Build-Out & Maintenance – Manage campus construction, facility enhancements, and vendor accountability to ensure and maintain top-tier facilities.
  • IT Operational Setup – Deploy complete system infrastructure—devices, platforms, support, compliance—for each new school, fully operational from day one.
  • Financial Operations – Develop budgets, produce real-time insight dashboards, and uphold audit-compliant financial oversight across every campus and business unit.
  • PMO – Drive execution of critical tech and marketing projects using vendor scorecards, dashboards, and initiative-level tracking.

You will build dashboards that eliminate financial opacity. Engineer onboarding frameworks that cut student setup errors by half. Obtain state regulatory approvals. Launch campuses at unprecedented speed. Or develop AI-driven workflows that remove entire layers of conventional oversight. This is execution at scale and velocity—conducted by builders, not observers.

If you are an operator who identifies constraints and immediately builds solutions—rather than convening discussions—you will excel in this environment. Your systems will enable the launch of 25–30 schools over the coming year. Your contributions will establish operational standards for hundreds of employees and thousands of students. Your results will be measurable and undeniable.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of one of five operational pillars: Authorization, Build-Out, Platforms, Finance, or PMO
  • Addressing novel challenges in your domain through AI, automation, and iterative problem-solving
  • Creating precise specifications, dashboards, or operational guides that function across multiple campuses
  • Engaging with real-world operational factors: campus vendors, regulatory bodies, technical systems, and personnel
  • Conducting on-site campus visits as required to deploy or validate your solutions in practice

What you will NOT be doing

  • Waiting for product or engineering teams to develop operational tools—you will prototype or automate directly
  • Using AI to generate boilerplate SOPs without refinement—you will create functional, tested solutions
  • Operating exclusively from a central office—travel and on-site execution are expectations
  • Delegating execution of your strategy to others—you will design and deliver end-to-end

Key responsibilities

Take complete accountability for outcomes in your designated operations pillar by designing and implementing systems that enable rapid-scale school expansion with precision, speed, and AI-native efficiency.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in North America with availability to travel 25-75% as required
  • 5+ years of experience in high-velocity, high-autonomy operational roles
  • Strong capabilities in analytical reasoning and written communication
  • Demonstrated bias toward action, low ego, and high sense of ownership
  • Background in at least one of the following areas: regulatory compliance, facilities buildout, SaaS user onboarding, FP&A, or tech vendor management
  • Employs AI tools as reflexively as others use spreadsheets: regularly, intuitively, and across diverse applications.
  • Has developed automations, systematized operational workflows, and explored vibe-coding for productivity or experimentation.
  • Proven ability to quickly gain fluency in new domains (legal, finance, compliance, systems, etc.)
