Description

Open schools. Transform lives. Move faster than bureaucracy allows.

Many claim they want to change the world. Few are prepared to tackle the demanding, often thankless work that genuine impact requires.

2 Hour Learning is reimagining education—enabling students to complete core academics in two focused hours daily, freeing time to think critically, build, create, and truly live. This vision won't materialize through slide decks or legislative debate. It becomes real when a facility clears approvals, passes inspections, and opens to students.

In this position, you'll be the driver who converts aspiration into action. You'll take vacant properties and transform them into functioning schools by managing permits, coordinating inspections, and steering contractor schedules. You won't pause for ideal conditions or accept "that's just the way things are." You'll establish credibility, innovate solutions, and persist until each challenge is overcome.

This is not a desk-based coordination position. It demands physical presence—calling inspectors directly, visiting municipal offices in person, managing vendor relationships, and identifying problems before they cause setbacks. Forward movement relies on your judgment and on-site involvement. Expect to travel 3-4 days weekly in most weeks, visiting cities nationwide.

You'll interface with municipal authorities and construction professionals while maintaining clear communication with senior internal leadership. Some days you'll be at the site removing obstacles. Other days you'll be interpreting local codes into actionable steps. You understand that being physically present drives better results.

You'll have opportunity to advance as rapidly as our school expansion. Each city will refine your decision-making. Each opening will develop competencies that scale to multi-site launches, cross-jurisdictional compliance, and infrastructure-intensive initiatives. You will learn how systems truly operate and design better ones.

When you execute this role successfully, a school launches. And when a school launches, children gain access to superior education now, not eventually.

If that accountability energizes you, you will excel here. If you prefer constrained scope or definitive answers, this role won't suit you.

If this describes the work you're seeking, we want to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Investigating local permitting, licensing, zoning, and inspection protocols using AI tools and authoritative sources
  • Contacting municipal and regional offices directly to confirm requirements, resolve ambiguities, and determine compliant approaches
  • Converting scattered regulations, correspondence, and discussions into structured checklists, timelines, and executable tasks
  • Preparing, filing, and monitoring submissions through to approval with meticulous attention to accuracy
  • Aligning with construction teams and vendors to synchronize build schedules with inspection and approval timelines
  • Traveling regularly, usually 3 - 4 days weekly, to U.S. cities to advance openings through on-the-ground presence
  • Managing straightforward, precise tracking systems so teams always understand approval status, blockers, and your mitigation efforts
  • Delivering updates in concise format to senior internal stakeholders

What you will NOT be doing

  • Speculating about regulations without direct verification from authoritative sources
  • Awaiting permission to proceed or for others to define subsequent actions
  • Relying on email when a phone call or face-to-face meeting will accelerate progress
  • Producing lengthy theoretical documents that fail to generate approvals
  • Engaging in abstract planning detached from actual deadlines and deliverables

Key responsibilities

Independently ensure compliant, timely microschool launches by integrating proactive execution, AI-enhanced research, and relationship-centered problem resolution across multiple jurisdictions.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in the United States with authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Able and willing to travel 60-80% of the time to U.S. cities
  • Proven ownership of results in ambiguous or rapidly changing contexts
  • Track record of effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including senior executives and external partners
  • Ease in initiating contact with new stakeholders and establishing rapport swiftly
  • Consistent follow-through on detail-intensive work under real deadlines
  • Demonstrated application of AI tools such as ChatGPT or Perplexity to enhance research, planning, or communication

Nice to have

  • Experience involving permits, inspections, facilities, construction, real estate, or compliance—including internships or project-focused roles
  • Participation in student government, event operations, facilities roles, or leadership requiring multi-party coordination
  • Prior interaction with city, county, or state government offices in any context
  • Educational background in public administration, urban planning, legal studies, business operations, or communications
  • Aspiration toward long-term career paths in site launches, multi-location operations, infrastructure programs, real estate development, or logistics networks
