Regulatory Affairs Coordinator   $100,000 USD/year

Description

This role isn't about managing paperwork — it's about making schools happen.

At 2 Hour Learning, we're rethinking education to return time to students. Our approach condenses a traditional school day into two intensive hours through AI-powered personalization, enabling students to dedicate their afternoons to building practical, real-world skills instead of remaining in classrooms. But before any of that becomes reality, a school must open — lawfully, securely, and according to schedule. That's your mission.

You won't be drafting policy memos or coordinating remotely. You'll be in the field (and frequently traveling), converting a signed lease into an operational campus: investigating municipal permits, contacting inspectors, securing approvals, managing contractors, and leveraging AI resources to accelerate school openings by weeks beyond typical timelines. You'll collaborate directly with experienced operators and construction professionals — not from an office, but at live construction sites and government agencies, delivering outcomes you can proudly claim: "That campus opened because I made it happen."

This position is designed for someone eager to learn quickly and contribute meaningfully from day one. You'll produce impactful work, assume responsibility early, and advance rapidly. If you thrive on transforming disorder into organized action plans and turning phone calls into official approvals, let's connect.

What you will be doing

  • Investigating jurisdiction-specific requirements and converting regulatory complexity into actionable workflows using AI resources and authoritative government sources
  • Compiling and filing accurate, comprehensive applications — covering licenses, inspections, and exemptions — and monitoring their progress through approval
  • Engaging with municipal staff, liaising with contractors, and ensuring construction schedules remain synchronized with regulatory timelines
  • Maintaining tracking systems and dashboards to keep teams informed about completed tasks, outstanding obstacles, and upcoming priorities
  • Traveling 3-4 days per week to various U.S. cities to advance campus openings directly on-site

What you will NOT be doing

  • Speculating about regulations from behind a desk — you'll confirm details directly from primary government sources
  • Waiting for direction from others to determine your next move — this role requires proactive initiative, not reactive behavior
  • Spending time drafting generic content — we employ AI to accelerate precision, not produce unnecessary filler
  • Remaining confined to high-level planning — this is execution-focused work with tangible deadlines and measurable results
  • Spending excessive time in transit — travel is frequent but purposeful, targeted, and fully expensed

Key responsibilities

Drive compliant, timely campus launches by integrating AI-powered research, construction coordination, and proactive stakeholder engagement across diverse regulatory jurisdictions.

Candidate requirements

  • U.S.-based and legally authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Available to travel 60-80% of the time to U.S. cities and states
  • Proven experience applying AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity) for research, project planning, or stakeholder communication
  • Strong communicator — approachable by phone, precise in writing, and persuasive with external partners
  • Proven ability to consistently meet or surpass deadlines in dynamic, fast-moving settings
  • Meticulous attention to detail — ensuring accuracy in every document, signature, and follow-up task
  • Rapid learner — able to quickly grasp unfamiliar regulatory frameworks, workflows, or technologies
  • Capable of managing multiple projects, schedules, and external collaborators at once

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in construction-related, operations-intensive, or compliance-focused environments (internships qualify)
  • Educational background in public policy, business, communications, or legal fields
  • Demonstrated success resolving complex logistical challenges in professional, internship, or volunteer settings
