Regulatory Launch Coordinator   $100,000 USD/year

Description

This role exists to open schools — not to manage them from afar.

At 2 Hour Learning, we're rebuilding education around a simple premise: give students their time back. Through AI-enabled personalization, we compress a full school day into two highly focused hours, freeing students to spend their afternoons developing real-world skills instead of sitting through traditional schedules. But none of that becomes reality until a school actually opens — legally, safely, and on schedule. That's your job.

You won't be drafting policy memos or coordinating from behind a desk. Instead, you'll be in the field (and frequently in transit), converting a signed lease into a fully operational campus: mapping local permit pathways, contacting inspectors, tracking down approvals, coordinating with contractors, and leveraging AI tools to accelerate school launches by weeks. You'll collaborate directly with experienced operators and construction crews — not from an office, but from live job sites and municipal buildings, delivering outcomes you can point to and say, "That campus opened because I made it happen."

This position is designed for someone who wants to learn fast and deliver results that count. You'll own meaningful work from day one and advance quickly. If turning ambiguity into action items and phone calls into signed approvals excites you, let's talk.

What you will be doing

  • Mapping local regulatory requirements and converting bureaucratic complexity into executable plans using AI tools and primary sources
  • Assembling and submitting accurate, complete filings — including licenses, inspections, and exemptions — and following them through to approval
  • Communicating with municipal clerks, coordinating contractor schedules, and ensuring construction progress stays synchronized with permitting deadlines
  • Maintaining live trackers and dashboards so internal teams always know what's complete, what's delayed, and what requires immediate attention
  • Traveling 3-4 days per week across U.S. cities to drive school openings forward in person

What you will NOT be doing

  • Relying on secondhand summaries of regulations — you'll confirm details directly from authoritative sources
  • Waiting to be told what to do next — this role requires initiative, not instruction
  • Spending time drafting filler content — we use AI to accelerate clarity, not create bloat
  • Staying stuck in high-level planning — this is hands-on execution work with firm deadlines and measurable outcomes
  • Constantly living out of a suitcase — travel is frequent but intentional, and all expenses are covered

Key responsibilities

Drive compliant, on-schedule campus launches by integrating AI-powered research, construction coordination, and proactive relationship management across multiple jurisdictions.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in the U.S. with authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Available to travel 60-80% of the time across U.S. cities and states
  • Proven use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity) for research, planning, or communication tasks
  • Strong communicator — personable over the phone, precise in writing, and effective with stakeholders
  • Consistent record of meeting or beating deadlines in high-velocity environments
  • Highly detail-oriented — every document, signature, and follow-up is accurate and timely
  • Fast learner — able to quickly master unfamiliar regulatory frameworks, processes, or tools
  • Capable of managing multiple projects, timelines, and external partners at once

Nice to have

  • Experience in construction-related, operations-intensive, or compliance-focused roles (internships included)
  • Educational background in public policy, business, communications, or legal studies
  • Prior experience untangling complex logistical challenges in professional, internship, or volunteer settings
