Description

Launch schools. Transform lives. Move faster than bureaucracy allows.

Many claim they want to create meaningful change. Few are prepared to handle the demanding, high-friction execution necessary to deliver it.

2 Hour Learning is redesigning education so students can complete their academic work in two concentrated hours daily, freeing the remainder of their time to learn critical thinking, building, creating, and living skills. This vision doesn't materialize through presentations or debates. It becomes real when a facility secures approval, passes inspection, and opens to serve students.

In this position, you will convert plans into operating schools. You'll take vacant buildings and make them fully functional learning environments by managing permits, inspections, and contractor schedules. You won't wait for complete clarity or accept bureaucratic delays. You'll establish relationships, find solutions, and persist until problems are solved.

This is not a desk-based coordination position. It demands physical presence—calling inspectors, visiting government offices, managing vendors, and identifying obstacles before they cause setbacks. Your on-site presence and decision-making drive progress. Expect to travel 3-4 days weekly, visiting cities nationwide.

You'll interface with municipal officials and construction professionals while keeping internal leadership clearly updated. Some days require on-site problem resolution. Other days involve interpreting local codes into actionable plans. You understand that being present produces results.

Growth opportunities will match our network expansion. Each new city will refine your judgment. Each opening will develop capabilities applicable to large-scale launches, cross-jurisdictional compliance, and infrastructure-intensive initiatives. You will learn how systems truly function and create improved alternatives.

Successful execution means a school opens. When that happens, children gain access to superior education immediately, not eventually.

If that accountability energizes you, this environment will suit you well. If you prefer narrow responsibilities or complete certainty, this position won't align.

If this describes work you want to pursue, we're eager to speak with you.

What you will be doing

  • Investigating local permitting, licensing, zoning, and inspection protocols using AI-assisted research and authoritative sources
  • Contacting municipal and regional authorities directly to confirm requirements, resolve ambiguities, and determine compliant approaches
  • Converting scattered regulations, correspondence, and discussions into organized checklists, schedules, and action items
  • Creating, filing, and monitoring submissions through approval with meticulous accuracy
  • Aligning construction teams and contractors so project timelines match inspection and approval milestones
  • Traveling regularly, usually 3-4 days weekly, to U.S. cities for hands-on advancement of school openings
  • Managing straightforward, precise tracking systems so teams consistently understand approval status, blockers, and your response
  • Delivering concise status updates to senior internal leadership

What you will NOT be doing

  • Assuming regulatory requirements without direct verification from official sources
  • Waiting for authorization to proceed or for others to determine next actions
  • Relying on email when direct phone or in-person contact will accelerate progress
  • Producing lengthy theoretical documents that don't lead to approvals
  • Engaging in conceptual planning disconnected from actual timelines and deliverables

Key responsibilities

Autonomously execute compliant, timely microschool launches through high-ownership action, AI-augmented research, and relationship-based problem resolution across multiple jurisdictions.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in the United States with authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Available and prepared to travel 60-80% of time to U.S. cities
  • Proven ownership of results in uncertain or rapidly changing contexts
  • Track record of successful communication with diverse stakeholders, including executive leadership and external collaborators
  • Ability to confidently initiate contact with new stakeholders and establish rapport efficiently
  • Reliable execution on detail-intensive tasks with firm deadlines
  • Documented experience using AI tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity to enhance research, planning, or communications

Nice to have

  • Background involving permits, inspections, facilities management, construction, real estate, or regulatory compliance, including internship or project work
  • Experience in student government, event operations, facilities coordination, or leadership requiring multi-party coordination
  • Prior contact with municipal, county, or state government agencies in any role
  • Educational foundation in public administration, urban planning, legal studies, business operations, or communications
  • Aspiration toward careers in site expansion, multi-site operations, infrastructure development, real estate, or logistics management
