Lead Product Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

This position is designed for an accomplished engineer who excels at ownership, strategic thinking, and solving intricate technical problems. You will be responsible for developing the product's most critical features while guiding its technical roadmap and safeguarding its long-term resilience and expansion. The technical choices you make will have a direct effect on the product and those who use it, granting you the freedom to innovate alongside the accountability to execute.

The products you'll contribute to are reshaping education:

  • TeachTap: Utilizes AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-style learning platform.
  • TeachTales: Captivates students through personalized, enchanting stories that enhance understanding.
  • TimeBack: Functions as a learning companion that connects with existing applications, offering proactive guidance to students.
  • Athena: Employs AI-generated video content and assessments to produce quantifiable academic progress.

Your role will be to propel the technical advancement of our products, making certain they remain scalable, maintainable, and durable over time. Working in close partnership with product teams, you will convert broad requirements into concrete technical architectures and address sophisticated challenges while upholding rigorous quality benchmarks. The decisions you make will determine the product's trajectory and affect the learning experiences of thousands of students.

We emphasize deliberate planning and forward-thinking design. Our AI-first methodology automates repetitive tasks, allowing you to concentrate on decisions with significant impact and complex problem-solving. You will enjoy substantial autonomy and the capacity to guide product direction while prioritizing enduring stability and scalability.

If you are prepared to spearhead the technical progression of our SaaS offerings and harness generative AI to explore new frontiers, we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Architecting and building new capabilities with an emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
  • Requirement Engineering: Partnering with the product team to clarify requirements and guiding technical conversations to ensure features align with product objectives.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product stability through monitoring and maintenance, optimizing performance, and preemptively detecting and addressing issues.
  • Technical Design: Executing high-stakes technical decisions that directly shape user experience and product growth.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Hopping between short-lived projects or pursuing the latest technology fads.
  • Contributing to internal IT systems or outsourced engagements that lack tangible user impact.
  • Enduring marathon meeting cycles or grappling with monotonous infrastructure problems.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.
