Description

Are you an accomplished engineer who excels at ownership, strategic impact, and solving intricate technical problems? This position will place you at the center of building critical product features while steering technical architecture and securing sustained stability and expansion. The technical choices you make will have direct consequences for the product and its end users, granting you the freedom to innovate and the accountability to execute.

You'll contribute to products reshaping education:

  • TeachTap: Leverages AI to bring historical figures to life in a TikTok-like learning experience.
  • TeachTales: Engages students with personalized, magical storytelling that boosts comprehension.
  • TimeBack: Acts as a learning copilot that integrates with existing apps, proactively coaching students.
  • Athena: Uses AI-generated videos and tests to deliver measurable academic outcomes.

You will lead the technical advancement of our products, guaranteeing they remain scalable, maintainable, and resilient over time. Working in close partnership with product teams, you will convert strategic requirements into concrete technical design and address sophisticated challenges while upholding rigorous quality benchmarks. Your decisions will define the product's trajectory and shape how thousands of students learn and develop.

We emphasize deliberate planning and upfront design. Our AI-first methodology automates routine work, allowing you to concentrate on high-value decisions and creative problem-solving. You will enjoy significant autonomy and the capacity to guide product direction while prioritizing enduring stability and scalability.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Architecting and delivering new features with emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
  • Requirement Engineering: Partnering with product teams to clarify requirements and spearheading technical conversations to ensure features align with product objectives.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing and preserving product reliability, optimizing performance, and preemptively detecting and addressing issues.
  • Technical Design: Making high-stakes technical choices that directly shape user experiences and product scalability.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Jumping between short-lived projects or pursuing the latest hype-driven technology trends.
  • Contributing to internal IT systems or outsourced initiatives that lack genuine user impact.
  • Being trapped in endless meetings or handling tedious infrastructure problems.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.
