Description

Are you an accomplished engineer motivated by ownership, strategic impact, and solving complex technical problems? This role places you at the center of building critical product features while guiding technical direction and safeguarding long-term stability and expansion. The technical choices you make will have direct consequences for the product and its user base, granting you the freedom to innovate and the accountability to execute.

You'll contribute to products revolutionizing education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures in a TikTok-style learning format.
  • TeachTales: Captivates students through personalized, enchanting storytelling that enhances comprehension.
  • TimeBack: Functions as a learning copilot integrated with existing applications, offering proactive student coaching.
  • Athena: Employs AI-generated videos and assessments to produce measurable academic results.

You will lead the technical advancement of our products, guaranteeing they remain scalable, maintainable, and resilient over time. Working in close partnership with product teams, you will convert high-level requirements into concrete technical design decisions and address complex obstacles while upholding rigorous quality standards. Your decisions will define the product's trajectory and affect how thousands of students learn and develop.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Architecting and delivering new features with emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and enduring product value.
  • Requirement Engineering: Partnering with the product team to clarify requirements and guiding technical conversations to ensure features align with product objectives.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing and sustaining product stability, optimizing performance, and preemptively detecting and addressing issues.
  • Technical Design: Executing high-stakes technical decisions that directly influence user experiences and product scalability.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Jumping between short-lived projects or pursuing the latest technology fads.
  • Contributing to internal IT systems or outsourced initiatives lacking tangible user impact.
  • Being trapped in constant meetings or managing tedious infrastructure challenges.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.
