Description

This position is designed for accomplished engineers who excel at owning outcomes, influencing strategy, and solving difficult technical problems. You will be responsible for developing the product's most critical features while simultaneously steering its technical roadmap and securing its long-term reliability and expansion. The technical choices you make will have a direct bearing on the product and the experience of its users, granting you both the freedom to explore innovative solutions and the accountability to execute successfully.

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-style educational format.
  • TeachTales: Captivates learners through personalized, immersive storytelling that enhances understanding.
  • TimeBack: Functions as an integrated learning assistant that connects with existing applications to coach students in real time.
  • Athena: Employs AI-driven video and assessment tools to produce quantifiable learning improvements.

Your role will center on advancing the technical architecture of our offerings, making certain they remain scalable, maintainable, and resilient over time. In close partnership with product teams, you will convert strategic requirements into sound technical architectures and address intricate challenges without compromising quality. The decisions you make will define the product's trajectory and affect how thousands of learners engage and advance.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Architecting and delivering new capabilities with attention to scalability, maintainability, and lasting product value.
  • Requirement Engineering: Partnering with product stakeholders to clarify requirements and facilitating technical conversations that ensure features align with overarching product objectives.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product health, optimizing system performance, and identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
  • Technical Design: Executing high-stakes technical decisions that directly influence user satisfaction and the product's ability to scale.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Jumping between transient projects or pursuing technologies driven by short-lived trends.
  • Contributing to internal IT infrastructure or client outsourcing engagements that lack direct end-user impact.
  • Spending time in unproductive meetings or troubleshooting monotonous infrastructure tasks.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.
