AI Product Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Are you an accomplished engineer who excels at ownership, strategic thinking, and solving intricate technical problems? This position places you at the center of building a product's most critical features, while simultaneously guiding its technical trajectory and safeguarding its long-term resilience and expansion. The technical choices you make will have a direct bearing on the product and its user base, granting you the freedom to innovate alongside the accountability to execute.

Your work will contribute to products that are reshaping education:

  • TeachTap: Leverages AI to bring historical figures to life in a TikTok-like learning experience.
  • TeachTales: Engages students with personalized, magical storytelling that boosts comprehension.
  • TimeBack: Acts as a learning copilot that integrates with existing apps, proactively coaching students.
  • Athena: Uses AI-generated videos and tests to deliver measurable academic outcomes.

Your role is to drive the technical maturation of our products, making certain they remain scalable, maintainable, and durable over time. Working in close partnership with product teams, you will convert high-level objectives into technical architecture and navigate complex obstacles while upholding rigorous quality benchmarks. The decisions you make will define the product's trajectory and affect how thousands of students engage with learning content.

We emphasize deliberate planning and design that precedes implementation. Our AI-first methodology automates repetitive work, allowing you to concentrate on decisions and problem-solving that deliver the greatest impact. You will enjoy substantial autonomy and the opportunity to shape product strategy while prioritizing enduring stability and scalability.

If you are prepared to spearhead the technical advancement of our SaaS products and harness generative AI to redefine what's possible, we welcome your application.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Designing and implementing new features focusing on scalability, maintainability, and long-term product impact.
  • Requirement Engineering: Collaborating with the product team to refine requirements and leading technical discussions to align features with product goals.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Monitoring and maintaining product stability, tuning performance, and proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Technical Design: Making stakes technical decisions directly impacting user experiences and product scalability.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Switching between short-term projects or chasing the next hype-driven technology trend.
  • Working on internal IT systems or outsourced projects without real-world user impact.
  • Getting stuck in endless meetings or dealing with tedious infrastructure issues.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.
