AI Product Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

If you're a skilled engineer driven by ownership, strategic impact, and solving intricate technical problems, this role offers you the opportunity to develop critical product features while steering technical direction and safeguarding long-term stability and scalability. The technical choices you make will have a direct effect on the product and its user base, providing you with both the freedom to innovate and the accountability to execute.

The products you'll contribute to are reshaping education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-style learning environment.
  • TeachTales: Captivates students through personalized, immersive storytelling designed to improve comprehension.
  • TimeBack: Functions as a learning copilot, embedding itself in existing applications to coach students proactively.
  • Athena: Employs AI-generated video content and assessments to produce measurable learning results.

Your role will center on advancing the technical foundation of our products, guaranteeing they remain scalable, maintainable, and resilient over time. Working hand-in-hand with product teams, you will convert high-level objectives into concrete technical architectures and navigate complex challenges without compromising quality. The decisions you make will define the product's trajectory and affect how thousands of students engage with learning.

We emphasize deliberate planning and upfront design. Our AI-first methodology automates routine work, allowing you to concentrate on decisions with the greatest impact and on solving meaningful problems. You will enjoy substantial autonomy and the capacity to shape product priorities with an emphasis on long-term stability and scalability.

If you're prepared to spearhead the technical advancement of our SaaS products and harness generative AI to explore new frontiers, we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Architecting and delivering new features with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
  • Requirement Engineering: Partnering with the product team to clarify requirements and guiding technical conversations to ensure features align with overarching product objectives.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product stability through monitoring, performance optimization, and proactive identification and resolution of issues.
  • Technical Design: Executing high-stakes technical decisions that directly influence user experience and product scalability.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Jumping between short-lived projects or pursuing the latest technology fads.
  • Contributing to internal IT infrastructure or outsourced engagements that lack tangible user impact.
  • Spending excessive time in meetings or wrestling with repetitive infrastructure problems.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, contributing to both front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years serving as the lead technical contributor for a SaaS product, guiding strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience with real SaaS products, excluding outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Practical experience integrating generative AI into your daily development workflow.
