AI Product Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

This role is designed for accomplished engineers who excel at strategic ownership and solving intricate technical problems. You will be responsible for developing the most critical product features while guiding technical strategy and maintaining long-term product health and scalability. The technical choices you make will have direct consequences for the product and its user base, granting you both the freedom to innovate and the accountability to execute.

Your work will involve products that are reshaping education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures in a TikTok-style educational format.
  • TeachTales: Captivates learners through personalized, enchanting stories that enhance understanding.
  • TimeBack: Functions as a proactive learning assistant that connects with existing applications to coach students.
  • Athena: Delivers measurable learning improvements through AI-powered videos and assessments.

Your mandate is to advance the technical foundation of our products, guaranteeing they remain scalable, maintainable, and resilient over time. Working hand-in-hand with product teams, you will convert high-level objectives into technical architecture and navigate complex challenges without compromising quality. Your contributions will define the product trajectory and affect how thousands of students engage with learning.

We value deliberate planning and design-first thinking. Our AI-centric methodology automates routine work, allowing you to concentrate on impactful decisions and sophisticated problem-solving. You will enjoy significant autonomy, with the authority to shape product direction and emphasize long-term robustness and scalability.

If you are prepared to guide the technical advancement of our SaaS offerings and harness generative AI to explore new frontiers, we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Architecting and building new capabilities with an emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
  • Requirement Engineering: Partnering with product teams to clarify requirements and steering technical conversations to ensure features align with product objectives.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product stability, optimizing performance, and proactively detecting and addressing potential issues.
  • Technical Design: Executing high-stakes technical decisions that directly shape user experience and product scalability.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Jumping between short-lived projects or pursuing the latest trendy technology.
  • Supporting internal IT infrastructure or outsourced work that lacks tangible user impact.
  • Being trapped in continuous meetings or wrestling with tedious infrastructure complications.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.
