You will be responsible for building mission-critical features while guiding the product's technical trajectory and maintaining its stability and scalability over time. The technical choices you make will have a direct effect on the product and its end users, granting you significant autonomy alongside the accountability to execute effectively.

- Athena: Delivers measurable educational results through AI-generated video content and assessments.
Your role will be to propel the technical maturation of our offerings, ensuring they remain scalable, maintainable, and resilient for years to come. Working in close partnership with product stakeholders, you will convert strategic requirements into sound technical architectures and navigate complex engineering challenges while upholding rigorous quality benchmarks. The decisions you make will define the product's trajectory and affect the learning journeys of thousands of students.

What you will be doing
- Feature Development: Architecting and building new capabilities with an emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
- Requirement Engineering: Partnering with product leadership to clarify requirements and guiding technical conversations to ensure alignment with product objectives.
- Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product health, optimizing performance, and taking proactive measures to identify and address potential issues.
- Technical Design: Executing high-stakes technical decisions that directly influence user experience and product growth.
What you will NOT be doing
- Jumping between fleeting projects or pursuing the latest technology fads.
- Contributing to internal IT infrastructure or outsourced engagements disconnected from actual user outcomes.
- Spending excessive time in meetings or managing tedious infrastructure concerns.
Candidate requirements
- At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
- At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
- At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
- Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.
