Senior Full-Stack Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

This position is for an accomplished engineer ready to take ownership of strategic technical direction, influence product architecture, and solve demanding technical problems. You will be responsible for developing critical product features while steering the long-term technical vision and maintaining system reliability and scalability. The technical choices you make will have direct consequences for the product and its user base, providing you with both the freedom to innovate and the accountability to execute.

The products you'll work on are reshaping education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-style learning platform.
  • TeachTales: Captivates students through personalized, immersive storytelling that enhances understanding.
  • TimeBack: Functions as a learning assistant integrated with current applications, offering proactive student guidance.
  • Athena: Employs AI-generated videos and assessments to produce tangible educational results.

Your role will be to advance the technical maturity of our products, making sure they remain scalable, maintainable, and resilient over time. Working in close partnership with product teams, you will convert broad requirements into concrete technical designs and address intricate challenges while upholding rigorous quality standards. The decisions you make will determine the product's trajectory and affect the learning experience of thousands of students.

We emphasize deliberate planning and upfront architectural design. Our AI-first methodology automates repetitive work, allowing you to concentrate on impactful decisions and sophisticated problem-solving. You will enjoy substantial autonomy and the opportunity to guide product strategy while prioritizing enduring stability and scalability.

If you are prepared to lead the technical advancement of our SaaS offerings and harness generative AI to expand what's possible, we welcome your application.

What you will be doing

  • Feature Development: Architecting and building new capabilities with emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and sustained product value.
  • Requirement Engineering: Partnering with the product team to refine specifications and spearheading technical conversations to ensure features align with product objectives.
  • Operations and Maintenance: Overseeing product stability, optimizing performance, and proactively detecting and addressing issues.
  • Technical Design: Making high-stakes technical choices that directly influence user experience and product scalability.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Jumping between short-lived projects or chasing trendy, hype-driven technologies.
  • Working on internal IT infrastructure or outsourced engagements that lack meaningful user impact.
  • Spending time in endless meetings or managing tedious infrastructure maintenance.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year of full-stack development experience, working on front and backend features.
  • At least 2 years as the primary technical contributor for a SaaS product, driving strategic technical decisions.
  • At least 4 years of experience working on actual SaaS products, not outsourcing or internal IT projects.
  • Experience in using generative AI in your day-to-day development work.
