Youth Sports Coach   $150,000 USD/year

  • Austin, TX (in-person position)

Elite competitors (Olympic athletes, World Champions, D1 First Team All-Americans) understand the discipline required to reach the top. The question is whether you can convert that experience into targeted coaching methods that turn students into top performers.

At Texas Sports Academy, your playing field shifts to developing champions—not from the bench, but through direct coaching that challenges students to exceed their perceived boundaries daily. Sharing your achievements is not the mission. Your task is to translate elite-level athletic discipline into practical motivational tools, build resilience through interactive workshops, and lead demanding practices where championship expectations apply to every participant.

Austin provides consistent access to outdoor training facilities, a robust sports community, and a purpose-centered environment where your competitive background serves as the blueprint for mentoring emerging leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive transformation through direct action. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting focused 1:1 coaching sessions where you convert your competitive experience into concrete, applicable coaching methods
  • Directing energetic morning assemblies that activate and engage all students
  • Leading interactive workshops on essential life skills, actively guiding students through exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal definition
  • Overseeing structured afternoon sports training that embodies championship principles: creating drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through athletic activity (not merely watching from the sidelines)
  • Continuously engaging with all students during the day: moving through the space during self-directed learning periods, stepping in to motivate students facing challenges, and generating moments of insight that unlock new levels of thinking

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from a distance as a symbolic presence: this position demands active participation. You'll be on the ground, directly working with students, leading sessions, and responding immediately when needed.
  • Delivering conventional classroom instruction or adhering to academic lesson plans: students use adaptive technology for academics. Your focus is life coaching, inspiration, and developing transferable skills through athletics and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're looking for accomplished former athletes with credentials at the highest competitive tier — Olympic athletes, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging athletics to mentor and develop life skills
  • Established track record of motivational leadership in sports, education, or professional environments
  • Authorization to work legally in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Prepared to reside in or move to Austin, TX
